Sylvins are a closed species created by bookfangeek. They're slightly based off of sylphs and mixed with traits from a character from the creator's webcomic.
They're little pastel humans with big wings, long tails, and claws.

- Sylvins are a CLOSED SPECIES! You are welcome to make designs based off of the species, but unless you get them officially approved, you will not be able to upload art, participate in prompts and events, use their lore, or call them the same name that I gave the species!
- You are more than allowed to use your character in non-species-related art/animations/comics/etc!
- Do NOT use any of my species in hate art or discrimination! Be respectful to LGBT people, all religions, all races, and all genders!
- I would love having a link back to the group in all uploaded art for your characters! It helps spread the word about the group! This isn't required however, it's just a courtesy thing!
- In order to trade your design, you MUST have proof of ownership!
- There are no rules about resale pricing if you made the design and/or didn't make the design but have a fair amount of artwork for your character. This is at your own discretion.
ALWAYS alert a mod about a change in character ownership!
ADOPT TOS
- NEVER claim a design you did not make is your own creation!
- Once you have purchased an adoptable, refunds are NOT allowed! Trades and resales, however, are!
- Do not sell an adopted design for more than you got it for (unless you have purchased or made art for it)!
- Please be sure to credit the designer of your adopted character in at LEAST the first drawing of them!
- The designer retains the right to use their design in a portfolio.
MYO TOS
- You are only allowed to make your own of any species in this group when MYO slots or events are open.
- Do not post any MYO designs until they get approved!
- Unused MYO slots may be traded, but they can only be resold for the price you bought it for!
- Once a MYO slot is received, you will have three months to either design and submit your MYO design or give your slot to a new owner. Neither of these actions are completed, the MYO slot will become available again and your ownership will be revoked.

It was good! I don't really know if I can accurately predict what the FAQ will need right now, but I want to keep this formatting around so I don't lose it!
Sylvins are a flying species that tend to live in mountainous areas. They have a very high tolerance to freezing temperatures. They tend to live in small colonies with their own cultures and lifestyles. It isn't uncommon for colonies to vary wildly in terms of culture, clothing, language, and more!
Sylvins don't always live in the mountains, however, due to their wings being able to help them get around, they tend to stay away from crowded spaces like big cities and forests, preferring wide open areas with room to run around instead.
Sylvins have hollow bones, and, as such, are about 10% lighter than what they would weigh if their bones were solid because of this.
Aging
Sylvins age much the same way that humans do. They are born from a mother and continue to grow. Their wings are much smaller and featherless when they're born, acting much like a baby bird's. They can begin to fly at around age 5. They continue to grow and hit puberty in their teen years. Once puberty is finished, they look just like humans with some extra appendages.
Food
Sylvins love sweets and everything to do with sweets. They favor fruit and sugary snacks. Other than this affinity, they eat much like humans.
Sleep Habits
Sylvins tend to sleep on their stomachs or sides. Their wings are much too big to allow them to sleep on their backs, many have a tendency to curl up like a cat while they sleep.

The sylvin's world is very much a modern fantasy type place. They have technology and can do pretty much everything humans can, but everything has a slightly more magical feel to it.
Appearance
Trait info
- Sylvins' hair, fur, irises, and feathers can be any color! Their skin, however, must be a natural human skin tone.
- All Sylvins have MASSIVE wings with a wingspan of twice their body height. Wings can be any mammalian/avian shape.
- All Sylvins have long tails with a thick tuft of hair at the end. No matter how fluffy their tail is, the tuft is clearly there! Sylvins' tails can be any color!
- All Sylvins have animal-shaped ears that can be any mammalian shape and can be placed on the top or bottom of the head.
- All Sylvins have retractable claws! Although they still have fingernails, Sylvins have claws on the tip of each finger that can be unsheathed when they're in danger or just need to open a package. Some Sylvins' skins will close up when fingers are retracted, hiding their claws completely while some act more like a cat's paw, keeping the ejection point clearly visible.
- Some Sylvins have tail feathers! This is a trait that suggests Sylvins used to have full tail feathers but have slowly evolved past them. Tail feathers can be any length and can range from just 1 feather to an entire tail! Sylvins WILL still have their mammal tails!
- Some Sylvins have horns! Horns can be any shape or size!
What Traits Aren't Allowed?
- Colored Sclera.
- Multiple tails.
- Insect/Dinosaur Wings
- Short Tails/Small Wings/Extra Long Tails/Extra Long Wings
- Mismatched wing types. (Different colors are okay, different species are not.)
- Shaped pupils. This includes any real-world pupil shapes aside from a human's.
How Do Crossbreed Slots Work?
Crossbreed slots let the person who buys them break rules while making a Sylvin! If the slot owner wanted to give their sylvin a bunny tail, they could! The rules are much more open ended with a crossbreed slot! There are, however, some rules the designer CAN'T break:
- The Sylvin MUST have been born with at least two wings.
- The Sylvin MUST have a tail.
- The Sylvin MUST have claws.
