About:

The Onyx kingdom is the northern kingdom of Sallentine. This the second least populated kingdom, and the smallest by area, but on the other side, it contains the mountains where Wykin watches over Sallentine.

The Inkwell is Onyx kingdom's Dream Totem. It represents Sallentine's Passion, and appears as a large marble well filled with shining black ink. Drinking from the Inkwell blesses one with intense strength and persistence.

Hawthorne Manor is home to a select few trusted people who are either royalty, or servants to royalty. Since the Onyx kingdom is so small in population, especially compared to how much land is contained by it, there isn't much of a need for a large Capitol. Residents of the kingdom are content with the throne being in a modest mansion out in the forest. Their Monarchs usually manage them well, even from such a distance to the rest of the kingdom. Hawthorne Manor is not a town or city itself, having less than a hundred citizens, but it is the Capitol and founding location of residency of the kingdom.

Wykin's Lair is set on the highest peak in the Ebony Mountain Range. From there, she oversees all of Sallentine. Nobody is allowed to visit this place without explicit invitation, not that very many would visit in the first place. It's pretty cold up there, and extremely difficult to reach without falling prey to death. Within her Lair is also a Gateway that is only accessible to Wykin herself.

Silver Beach is a popular tourist destination in the Onyx kingdom, in addition to the most populated town. Featuring pure, beautiful sand, crystal clear waters, colorful reefs, and even everyone's favorite tropical plants, it's no wonder the place is also known as Summertime Paradise. Even the weather's perfect-- no scorching, arid/humid heat means no sunburn!! Silver Beach primarily capitalizes on tourism, but also makes a living on nature's watery treasures, like coral, exotic fruits, and tropical fish. It even happens to be the same place Anna and Honey met, before the pair moved east to the Rose kingdom. Silver Beach primarily trades services and luxury goods with the other Onyx towns.

Heizville is a decent sized mine town. Miners harvest precious jewels and agates to sell to other kingdoms for refining and used in artisan crafting. After trades with the Rose kingdom, finished goods and other essentials are then imported and distributed back throughout the town. Heizville is able to manage off of this one trade system mainly due to the jewels and agates being exclusive to the mountains from which they are harvested- found only in the Onyx kingdom. Citizens who are not working in Heizville's mines grow only enough crops for Hawthorne Manor and the rest of town, since Silver Beach does not rely on imported crops for survival, and the Rose kingdom does not have any use for them.

Traditions:

The Onyx kingdom has one major tradition- the Four-Point tradition. When a man wishes to get married to a woman, the father of the daughter proposes the tradition be followed so that the suitor may prove his devotion. The Four-Point tradition is one that requires an individual to travel to all four kingdom's capitols and bring back a gift or token of acknowledge from each Monarch for the bride. The better the gifts, and the sooner the challenge is finished, the more devoted to the bride a man is considered. Although the tradition arose here, it has spread to other kingdoms as a popular trend.
