Mishka live on a small uncharted island, named Kas. It is located near Hawaii, leaving the island tropic filled with fruit, nuts, other various types of vegitation, and many types of fish. Travelers told tales of a bountiful island inhabited by eyeless creatures for ages. Many went in search of the island to reap the bounty of its untouched minerials and even wanting to capture the creatures to use and profit off of. The Mishka closed all ports, scaring those who enter the island till it was forgotten, but that was ages ago! Transportation has made the island findable again leading to the new council setting up ports and villages with their own placing members as village lead under the island chief. Mishka would trade some food and minerals for technology. New tech made crafts faster and easier for the laboring population. Wise Mishka formed masks to comfort human traders and as a status symbol within the island resedency. Few masks grant sight, these are only given to government officials and high class who can afford them.

Trade divided the Mishka population shortly after the ports opened. They used to all work to gather food, craft homes, and other means of living. Now there are the labored workers who collect items for black market human trade or trade within the community, work for higher Mishka families, and make goods/crafts. The high Mishka are the ones who deal with traders and visiting government officials. Higher Mishka's also make tech or are familes associated with the head council and island chief. The only limitation the labor class get is sightless masks (unless the save or steal a sight mask), no trades, or traveling. Most lower class don't want vision, but the opportunity to make trade and travel are highly sought after. Of course this can't stop common Mishka residents from leaving the island however they can or creating underground markets for trade. Common Mishka do have masks to display emotion and a sense of normality for human visitors that either visit on business or those wanting a tropic get away. They are not ordered to wear masks unless around humans or working in diplomatic Mishka residences, but they can choose not to.

Extra Info

Since Mishka are born without eyes, they have developed large ears and tails. Their tails are fluffy with longer finer hairs also known as whiskers that can pick up extra stimuli. Fur comes in a verity of colors and patterns. More recently it has been discovered Mishka born with scales and fins. They still share generally being born without an eyes or sight. It was discovered lost seeds that where flooded out to uninhabited ponds and water spots developed to survive their new home. These other Mishka can mate with other land dwelling mishka to create hybrids. In rarer almost legendary cases there are Mishka born with genetics of other species creating another type of hybrid!

Most Mishka like their fur while others have experimented with human fashions. Though the weather stays fairly warm with the winter reaching as low as 55 f and summers reaching 130f. It is wise not to wear extremely warm clothes.

Infant-Adult

Mishka mate very differently than how typical humans repopulate. Mishka mate by the female spitting out a seed and planting it. The male then pour nectar over the spot which is a special thicker saliva produced in glands located in the back of the throat. It takes 3 weeks for the Mishka to develop and ready to be raised by its parents. Mishka have a long life span. While it takes 3 weeks to grow to about the age of a 2 year old in human years, the rest spend most of life in the body of a 25 year old. The oldest recorded Mishka lived to 574 where at that point their body aged to that of a 90 year old. It takes about 6 years for the Mishka to develop into about 16 in human years. Another 2 years marks adulthood. Older Mishkas are treated as royalty and taken care of by the whole village till they pass.

Females range from 5ft to 6'5ft while males are 4'5ft to 6ft on average. Of course this is just averages many Mishka can be born different sizes and some even different more plump body shapes. Females usually have a small chest since children don't need mother's milk like humans and their body hardly has any fat. Mishka have no visible genitalia or nipples. However with the involvement of the modern world some Mishka partake in body altering surgery to get a desired look.

Parenting

Typically Mishka enjoy fostering homes be it biological children or adopted children. Of course there are ones that just don't want children or so on which is completely fine. It completely depends on the type of person they are.

Parents tend to make a special garden for their soon to be crop of children. They adorn the earth with fancy ribbons, flowers and cool rocks. Others my choose a simple pot to hold their seed inside in a nursery with lots of sun. Once the child digs their way up they are held up for the sun to see and then taken to the village's center pond to wash the new baby. Other parents choose to gather water from the pond to wash their child at home. It is also know that some parents make deals with a local witch to gain the ability to have their own for a price. Others have founded facilities that collect unwanted seeds and donor nectar to help struggling families. Rare is their a child displced from their original family, but typically they find a home rather fast. As the ports grew Mishka have even been known to adopt other children of a multitude of species to have a family.

Food

Mishka diets heavily consist of fruits, roots, vegetation, and fish, while young Mishka eat a verity of insects. They have tried sweet thanks to their trading partners and other human dishes, but sadly this food tends to upset their bellies. Small doses can be enjoyed however.

The weather allows food to almost always be in supply and support the colonies. Though it is heard of to have a dry season. It is in their best interest to keep the land in good health and to not over farm and stress the earth. Fish has certain in season times as well to gather traveling schools migrating for mating season.

Housing

Mishka have built their homes for ages, but they now have the resources to have other craft much finer homes that are much larger than really needed. Their homes reflect them as a person. A simple modest Mishka may be comfrotable with a small hut built with the aid of family and friends. Others may rather others construct a simple home for them to use. While the powerful and rich tend to want to show off their wealth with well tailored mansions built by human labors for a pretty penny. Of course a simple Mishka could also attempt grand feets for their housing.

It is also seen a few Mishka simply making a soft grass nest to lay in for nice nights and seeking shelter during storms in public buildings made for anyone not able to have a home. Some even make a larger home with their neighbor to help split the costs or labor. truly living in the modern days allow any island resident to make their dream home what ever it may be. Other even chose to move off the island to anywhere in the world.
