Ashrensels are monstrous titans made of wood, thorns, and parasites, these demonic beasts ravaged through the seemingly endless forest. No man had ever ventured through the cold belly of the woods and thus, nothing could prepare them for the agony to come.

For millenniums, the monsters left their maze of towering trees out towards the hills and grasslands to reach their foreordained demise, enraged by centuries of parasites and gut wrecking suffering. Inevitably, they took their blind anger out on mankind, their prey desperately trying to preserve their villages and their tribes. These battles would become the legends told by the victorious warriors around the week lasting bonfire they had created with the bodies of the defeated beasts.

Sometimes, the Ashrensels won their battles and destroyed entire families, leaving behind nothing but misery into the heart of the rare survivors. Greedy and avaricious, they never seem satisfied with their murderous rampage, that is until death finally deign to release them as well. And thus, the tale died along with them.

Eventually, humankind had progressed and evolved into a modern society. While the men had opted for a sparse retribution of solid habitations implemented in the hills (named Resins), they had invented a wide range of communication systems through shock wave channels allowing them to watch over the hectares of wild fields. Alongside, a new prototype of ultra-fast hovering vehicle was invented and now tested by the youth to travel from one resin to the other, but also escape the roaming Ashrensels easier.

Over the years Ashrensels started to grow smaller, though they still towered over most creatures it was very rare to find one comparable to the titans from before. This however doesn’t mean they became vulnerable as with their new, smaller bodies the Ashrensel were able to move much faster, not to mention their populations also grew steadily.

The forest had grown too, not only in weight, but in height as well. For a reason beyond anyone’s understanding, trees never seemed to die of old age. Instead, they were absorbed by stronger ones into a woody cluster that reached towards the heavens.

One of the oldest resins still stands after centuries of war against the titans, thriving in the large, rocky hills of the land and edged by the sea, this budding civilization became known as the capital of Seedery; where the biggest minds reunite to create the BonePlants, hopeful that with the help of these creatures they would be able to uncover the core of the forest.

Boneplants are a species of super hybrids made from a human base with plant properties.

Born from the seeds of the woody monsters named Ashrensels taken down by heroic Foresters, trusted Gardeners are in charge of modifying their genotypes to create an auspicious new model of symbiosis between fauna and flora organisms.

Subspecies:

Every Boneplant child embodies one type of plant exclusively. Therefore, their growth behaves similarly to nature. Depending on its plant type a Boneplant can fall under one of those labels:

  • Chresoliper: The most widespread subspecies. Quite similar to regular humans in terms of needs and size. They include common ground plants.

  • Eakiscus: While common, they’re mostly unwanted due to their unsettling attitudes. They include succulents and cacti.

  • Sachettle: Highly competitive and outgoing, they are uncommon and difficult to keep under authority. They include trees and pines.

  • Oscorcove: With a bite that’s impossible to come undone, their population is kept under control by gardeners, making them sparse. They include carnivorous plants.

  • Eleglade: They’re considered fragile compared to other subspecies, but their water abilities make them precious and rare. They include aquatic plants.

  • Sporelequin: The first subspecies ever created. Only a few exist nowadays to be kept as a company to overworked staff. They include mushrooms and fungi.

  • Roots:

Energy in, energy out. This is the keystone of Boneplants. Evolved roots run through their body much like the spinal cord this feature has replaced, all thanks to the Gardeners’ ingeniosity. Roots serve many purposes, from its most basic task such as internal system regulation and magnetic field sensitivity, it has an even stronger quality. From a young age, Boneplants develop acute control to their roots which they use as an extension of their limbs. In effect, Boneplant’s roots can come out their soft skin at will and carry, slice, penetrate and more. As a second nature to Boneplants, younglings have a liking to rooting to each other in a playful manner which can sometimes be beneficial in various ways.

  • Hair:

Thanks to their human models, Boneplants sport shiny, soft hair with a nice photosynthesis perk giving them extra energy to go through the day. It is primordial to be cut above shoulder length as there is a direct correlation between these and the length of the roots. In addition, it has been observed under a microscope that the hair’s scales are keen keratin modified chains of blades that can be made razor-sharp under stress.

Weak point:

  • Sprout:

All Boneplants possess a single sprout at the very top of their head. Linked to the cortex, this Achilles' heel is cogent evidence of good health. The sprout is always associated with the plant type the Boneplant was bred to be, therefore their appearance is varied. Never to bloom to a full-fledged plant unlike antennas, that weak point is to be protected at all cost, hence damages or destruction of it would be catastrophic to its bearer.Z2m0xBob4ROADz00S3VB5M0ovvBjnaDOe8lCfIj9
