You've been told many times by your gardener not to spend the night staring up at the canopy. After all, a long day full of chores and training awaits you and your fellow peers once day breaks! And the day after and… the thought makes you instinctively groan. What a boring schedule with no breaks for a bit of fun. Your peers must feel the same way, yeah?

After the last of the gardeners bids their child goodnight, you decide that just for tonight you'd stay up a little later than usual. The quiet shuffling of several blankets tell you that you weren’t the only one scheming on their late Seedery adventure. several others decided on joining you as well.

The clear night provided more than ample moonlight to watch your activities. You were careful to keep quiet and watch the door should someone suspect any activity. A single wrong move from anyone could end up with insect cleaning duties for the next week, eugh.

Your ears suddenly perked up when you heard a pair of fast footsteps approaching the alcove. The air instantly tensed as you and your friends frantically scramble back, when a familiar one-eyed face pops in with a wide grin, what a relief! In his hand was a bag of something you couldn't determine at the time.

"Are any of you still awake? I have a heap load of fun goodies to share with you all I found lying around!" He rattles the bag excitingly and the clattering of various boxes, toys, and other objects can be heard by all the children in the alcove. Why the Sachettle didn't wait till the morning to share was beyond you and your fellow peers. At least you'll have something to do for the night! Nothing could go wrong when Charlie was around, right?

πŸ‚π•Šπ•‘π•šπ•”π•–π•• π•€π• π•¦π•‘πŸ‚Seasonal prompt

Today is the last day of the first month of the year, Vendemyr! While some of your peers went out to pick up pumpkins, you’ve been called for a special mission. At first apprehensive, you soon feel a bit better staying inside when you learn the weather is getting worse today and for the rest of the afternoon.

You jump in your socks and join your friends in the kitchen. Usually pretty tidy, you can’t help but notice the room is cramped today. Piles and piles of crates have taken place on the tables, the counters, and even chairs! The familiar earthy odor tells you with a sure-fire conviction: You are surrounded with vegetables. Chef Vipul Lee, a stoic man you’ve only heard yell at anyone passing before, is patiently standing arms folded next to a cauldron and the mental image of an evil, bearded jinni making stew out of all of you pops in your mind.

  • The harvests were fruitful this year, all thanks to Kingdoms of OnchΓ―a’s expansion.

He points out with expectation. You can barely see his lips move under his thick mustache. A yelp indicative of someone hurting erupt from the side of the room, you notice with everyone else giddy Damoiseau Blair Cerbus, the dishwasher, in the middle of peeling a mountain worth of potatoes and blowing on the finger he probably cut just now.

  • I’m going to need hands to help prepare for winter. That means making preserves, lots of em. You guys will be in charge of making soup.

Chef unfolds his massive arms and taps the edge of the cauldron. Suddenly, the room lights up; soup, of course! Chef Lee continues explaining: You’ll have to work as a team to fill up that cauldron with the various vegetables available around you.

❄𝔽𝕖𝕀π•₯π•šπ•§π•’π• 𝕠𝕗 β„‚π•’π•π•’π•žπ•šπ•₯π•ͺ❄

As the fairytale goes, each and every snowflake you see falling down is a bee without its spring clothing. You linger in the alcove as you think about it, quill in hand as you finished writing down your name on a piece of paper. Swiftly, a dainty-looking Sachettle with severe facial traits and a horn on her forehead to complete her confidently haughty features picks up your name and toss it in a green glass lampshade she’s using as a substitute for a bucket. It lands among other pieces of paper much like yours and soon gets lost in a little pile of your peer’s names, who are all sitting across from you.

β€œQuit daydreaming.” She snaps with a piercing look on her face. β€œEvery year, our gardeners pray to the Ancient One to be granted protection and glory, as usual, they will pray and pray until they faint from exhaustion. Do you know what that means?” She asks, but she doesn’t actually let you puzzle it together as she turns to your peers. β€œIt means that for three days, only the mercury grades will be able to keep us in check, and I already know both Mortimer and Charlie will spend their free time drinking.” She points out with a satisfied smirk on her face, hand waving in the bowl as she mixes the paper pieces together. β€œWHICH MEANS that we have free access to the classes, the kitchens… Any door unlocked is free to open, I learned that from lots of you. While I’d be happy to report each and every one of you to the head of this lovely establishment, I figured I’d look away this time, and play a little game…” She concludes in the tone of someone who is having just too much fun with the situation, and she reaches the bowl out to you. β€œOh, just pick a name already. The rules are simple, whoever you pick, you must offer a present to. You must create that present yourself though, using the material you can find in classes or wherever you can think of. If you must steal, only take things that won’t be noticed for if you get caught, you’re definitely on your own!” The Sachettle grins as she sees you grab one of the pieces of paper and read its name.

At first, the rules seem a bit confusing, but you soon piece it together in an exciting list. You must craft something to offer, using materials typically found in pottery class, wood-crafting class, forest class, and even the hills and the lunchroom. You could make toys or a neat little snack! Pushing your creativity, you think you can pinpoint what you want to offer your friend.

Prompt requirements!

  1. Request secret friends in the admin's dms.
  2. Draw your character crafting or offering gifts to their secret friend!
  3. Each character can enter once for this prompt.

In a flash, a couple of months had gone by and your root training had proven to be successful. Congratulated by your gardener, and cheered on by your peers, you felt on top of the world, like you could protect everyone all by yourself. The snarky comments of a certain Sachettle won’t stop you, and even the Oscorcoves look a bit less scary. You start to feel as if those roots presence like you would be much taller if you wanted to, if you stretched enough you could touch the ceiling.

One day, your gardener comes to you with great news. The seeders had decided to pick you for a Silver Grade test at last. You would be able to grow up and go out there, finally!

You can barely help it but brag about the incoming event to your friends at lunchtime, all seem excited, albeit worried for you! Suddenly, as if you had touched a rainy cloud with the tip of your fingers, you feel the drenched hand of an Eleglade crash on top of your head and hold your skull firmly between his claws.

β€œSo that’s you, I was asked to go out and get a mean bug to beat for. Well congratulation, dimwits, I’ll be sure to get something worth your while.” He snarls and you can’t tell if he’s being genuine or if he’s mocking you. You give him a side smile and he lets go of you.

While taking your last meal as a copper grade, you absently gaze at the mercuries. Soon, you’ll play in the big boy’s playground...

Prompt requirements!

  1. Comment below to receive your bug opponent.
  2. Draw your character beating that bug! (There can only be one character, full-body, in that picture).

[OCTOBER PROMPT]Off your Gourd

πŸ‚π•†π•—π•— π•ͺ𝕠𝕦𝕣 π”Ύπ• π•¦π•£π••πŸ‚

It's been raining non-stop for quite a while now, hasn't it? Day and night, the warm temperatures of Summer have left the place to the freezing blasts and it's frantic storms. You won't let some water and wind keep you down, however, you're here for the ceremony! Your gardener has requested you to pick up the biggest pumpkins you can find, out there in the hills.

They gave you a wheelbarrowΒ and a pair of secateurs!

While you walk among the disproportionally growing gourds around you, you come to ponder. Who could have grown them, all this time? Gardeners sure are secretive, but the field being so close to a patch of forest's clearing gives you a slight idea of why they have sent you by yourself. Between the trees, you can clearly distinguish an entrance where the cold wind comes rushing in a deep wavering whistle. Because of the bad suitable weather and the propitious seasons, you've already spotted quite a few Boxelder Bugs and Ladybugs. Fortunately, they know better than to try to take a bite out of you, the rotting bark of trees and flourishing bushes around being far more appealing to these creepy crawlers than a child with such small stems on their head, comparatively.

Your heart is ecstatic as you pick and choose your own pumpkin! Hopefully, you will have the chance to get your own seed bag out of it!

Raffle time!

By entering this raffle, you may become one of the three winners from a free MYO Chresoliper character with the Death's Sugarcane root system! A rare trait that can only bloom in October!

  1. Anyone can enter this prompt. All you have to do is to make one colored picture, or piece of literature, related to this prompt!
  2. You must be a memberΒ of the group to apply!
  3. You must use one or several characters from the SeederyMasterlist only!
  4. Three entries per person maximum. Entries must be colored, background is optional but gets you an extra point for the raffle draw.

πŸ‘π•Žπ•šπ•π•₯𝕖𝕕 π•†π•π•˜π•’πŸ‘

Late this evening in the alcove, while you had your face buried in a botanical book, your ear picks up the sound of Bohdin's voice. As you expected, he's talking to the only other Bone Plant who seems interested whatever nerdy thing he's up to, Roosevelt. Although his facial expression doesn't show any sign of excitement, he isn't breaking eye contact and is listening silently. They haven't even noticed you're sitting in your bed.

As per usual, you had expected the mimosa to go on another rant about his favorite fictional hero character Super Bean, but to your surprise, he isn't babbling about that for once! The nervous red boy is instead confessing something worrisome he had witnessed in the salon; a strange kid lives in there, he says. A mute, crazy-eyed Boneplant just like you and me, except she's rotten. Bohdin swears she's been just sitting next to him the whole time while he was obnubilated by the newest episode of his show, only the rancid smell of rot snapped him out of it. "She must be deaf, she didn't even flinch when I screamed!" Bohdin cries out.

"What did you do then?" Asks Roosevelt. "I ran away!" The mimosa boy exclaims, jerking his head over his shoulder as if expecting to see the mysterious being spawns behind him. "I didn't even see the end of the episode... I don't even know if Super Bean could save Basil Boy from the evil one-armed, burning ghost-man! Oooh, just talking about him makes me want to go back, but she was so scary... Do you think it's a small Ashrensel?" The smaller boy questions frantically, and his friend shrugs. It's possible, he states, although highly improbable for he would have known and destroyed it on sight as soon as it had entered the Seedery. Before you know it, you realize the Eakiscus is looking at you, you can't tell when was your cover blown and the thought of it makes you feel a bit creeped out. The pair decide to go and check in the salon and soon enough, the rumor of Wilted Olga is spread like wildfire. Although they hadn't found anything tangible, the rotting smell had remained persistently. In addition, Bohdin's snacks had effectively vanished.

You and your friends can't tell if you are excited or terrified to find out about the ghostly being. You decide that every day, someone should stay in the salon for a while, a bag of candy in hands. Β If you are to find her, you should probably tell a Mercury grade.

Hopefully, she won't bite.

  • What trait can I use on the trait sheet?

You can use any trait you want. There is no rarity limitation except for purple traits, those are generally locked and are opened only as a reward for special events.

  • How does the chimera trait works?

You can use two plants, one on each side, of the same plant family.

  • What are the names in quotes in the character sheets?

Those are nicknames to go by when the character is wandering the forest. Some BPs like to pretend they are superheroes.

  • What font is used on the character sheet?

Cambria.

Gardeners and societydah0jho-beecdf37-bce3-43ba-a852-9804aff3

  • What exactly is the Seedery?

The Seedery can be summed up as a large greenhouse, its occupants practice botany in the extreme sense of the term. Back then, it was a strategic point to study the forest as it has proven to be one of the best shelters in the world.

  • What are resins?

Resins are small settlements. Most are built as towers to watch over the forest and the Ashrensels, they are composed of a geographical transmitter, radios and screens for long-distance communications, an inside garden, escape hatch and weapons. People there are likely to be travelers coming for a place to rest, most of them are inventors or entertainers of all kinds.

  • What is the philosophy of the people in this world?

Gardeners, foresters and seeders are working hard solely to discover what is hidden in the forest that spawns the monsters. They are proud of resisting and thriving despite the constant threat. People are conceited about their humanity, therefore they transmit their philosophy based on honor, hard work and unity, to their plant children.

  • How big are bugs?

Bugs are human-sized. Some are as small as household cats, some are as big as an elephant. It depends on which species of insects, but usually their average size is multiplied by fifty.

  • What do people eat at the Seedery?

Vegetable crops made in resins are monthly brought to the Seedery. People are omnivorous, but their diet mostly consists of bugs as they are plentiful.

  • What entertainment is there at the Seedery?

There is a show that airs on television called Super Bean. It stars a half-man half-plant superhero who fights numerous villains for the good of people. Every Bone Plant has at least heard of it, it’s pretty popular!
Music and plays are a big part of the entertainment at the seedery. In resins, inventors showcase their robotic creations as a means to awe people and be talked about.

  • Do gardeners have families?

Yes. A gardener can be married, have children of their own and visit their parents. Their Bone Plant may also be considered part of their family.

  • Can gardeners raise multiple Bone Plants?

Only temporarily. If a Bone Plant loses their original gardener, a substitute can volunteer until a new gardener is assigned.

  • What surrounds the seedery?

Forests have taken over most of the lands. Sea level is rather low, most of the water reserves are located in groundwater tables. The planet is bigger than the Earth. There are more continents than we have.

  • Can a gardener be something else than a human?

No. Gardeners are average joes.

  • Can they have body modifications? (Such as tattoos, piercings, hair dye etc…)

People of this world take great pride in their clean body, their long hair and the things they create. Their eccentric creativity is represented in the architecture of their buildings, furniture and everyday life items. Wearing jewelry, tattooing one's skin or cutting one's hair is deemed immoral. Since gardeners are chosen by the high authority to raise BP's, they reserve that job to respectable members with a good reputation and achievements.

  • What if my gardener had scars?

People with scars are usually assumed to be survivors of great calamities, they're treated with great respect.

  • What do BPs usually consume?

BPs are omnivorous. They can consume and digest meat, veggies, fish, roots, nuts.. They're given dirt pallets as a mineral supplement as well.

  • Can my character have a dark backstory?

Your character can have a backstory involving extreme cases of abuse or neglect before they’ve arrived at the Seedery. Those practices are looked down upon the community, therefore your abusive/neglectful gardener is likely to be shunned by other gardeners and in some cases dismissed of their functions.

  • How does the plant on my BP’s head behave?

Plants behave the same way they do in nature. They bloom and wither independently from the BP. While they draw their energy from their host to flourish, they do need consistent sunlight to prevail. As it constantly grows, it needs to be trimmed regularly by a gardener as to not grow too big and get in the face or draw too many resources from their host. If their plant is to flower, the pollen is spread normally either by the wind or by the aids of bugs.

  • Does the sprout need particular care?

Aside from keeping the BP in good health, the sprout doesn’t need much care at all. If anything, it needs to be protected at all costs as it is Achille’s heel in Bone Plants design.

  • What are the grades for?

The grades sequence the children by age groups. Each group is subsequently given different chores and responsibilities.

Wood grades are not to leave the seedery. They take care of the bugs while assisted by gardeners. Until they learn to use their roots, they have no other duty than to keep the insects happy.

Copper grade weekly leave the seedery to forage in the forest’s first layer. They have different classes and studies to undergo. Alongside this, they are required to cook, clean, and watch over the wood grades.

  • Can Bone Plants swim?

All Bone Plants but Eakisci can swim for a decent time. Eakisci don’t appreciate being wet in a general manner, they get sick easily from overwatering.

  • Can my character have tattoos/piercings/accessories?

They can neither have piercings or tattoos. They may have accessories such as collars or bracelets, although they are likely to be damaged while rooting. Superfluous body decoration is usually frowned upon as it is seen as a provocation toward the Ashrensels.

  • Can they have any hair color?

Yes. Additionally, their hair may change color in subtle shade during different seasons. This does not apply to those with white or black hair which never changes.

  • Can they have pets?

Yes. So long as it’s a small (dog sized is the limit) sized bug.

  • Can they have a twin?

It’s possible for a pair of BP to be born from the same seed.

  • How long can their hair get?

Shoulder length in the limit. If it were to grow any longer your BP would no longer be able to retract their roots.

  • Can they be born with physical/mental handicaps?

BPs with unwanted disorders are put down at birth. Lots of them die during the seeding process, lots of them are born differently. Gardeners only keep the top of the basket. All BPs are born with short hair birth defect, that's as best as they managed to get.

  • What if my character was malnourished?

Malnourishment in BPs cause their skin pigmentation to become blander. Their stems growth slow down or stop completely. They eventually dry and fall off.

Thirst in BPs cause their stems to wilt and/or fall off rather fast.

An exception is made from Eakisci as they can resist up to two weeks of starvation, although they become unenergetic and grumpy.

  • How do they react to rain?

Chresolipers become restless when it rains, they just love playing outside when it starts pouring. They seem to appreciate getting muddy much more than cleaning themselves with the bathroom's running water afterward.

Overall, rainy days are a guarantee BPs will sleep well and tight.

  • What happens if a BP was born albinos?

While it’s a one in a million case scenario, an albinos BP wouldn’t survive unless they were permanently rooted in a different BP of the same plant family. Under albinism, their roots cannot process chemicals necessary to produce chlorophyll. Therefore, their leaves are white and fragile, their eyesight is likely to be poor and to top it all off, they are vulnerable to illness. Without the constant help of a second party to aids processing the precious chemicals, an albino’s roots multiply chaotically trying to find the elements it is blinded to. At term, the BP undergoes paralysis while its roots use the last of its energy blooming outside of the body.

  • What happens beyond copper grade?

  • Is it possible for BP with Imperial Bean roots to want to feel emotions while they can’t have any?

Imperial Beans do in fact experience emotions, they're just extremely diluted and slow to arise hence why they're so effective while under pressure. They can choose to change this condition by rooting into a Writhpea BP however (and it is very common among them). By sharing root components, two individual’s perks balance out.

If your BP has experienced rooting in a Writhpea before, it is entirely plausible they would want to do it again.

  • What are the effects of Imperial Beans on Writhpeas?

They can think clearer, they feel more confident and calmer. More impulsive, too.

  • What do BPs bleed?

If a Boneplant is injured, they bleed the content of their roots. It can be blood (cells), sap or mucilage.
