How to obtain a Charmie

You canΒ make your own, buy official adoptables, commission a custom Charmie design, or be sold, traded, or gifted a Charmie by another owner!Β Charmie owners are not required to be a part of the Toyhouse World or DeviantArt Group, but these are great ways to share your Charmie, buy adopts, and participate in events to earn fun little prizes for your Charmies!

What you can do with your Charmies

You're free to use your Charmie in any universe you wish - mascots, comics, stories, roleplay, or just as fun characters!
It's common for Charmies to fulfill the role of comfort objects or companions, but they can live however they wish!

As long as the designs have all the requirements, you can make your own Charmies whenever you like!
Charmies may also be made as "alternate versions" of existing characters for your own personal use.
See here on guidelines for making your own Charmie characters!

Feel free to share your Charmies and Charmie art within the Toyhouse World and DeviantArt Group! We'd love to see what you're doing!

You can create merch of your own Charmie characters, including plushies, stickers, charms, and even fursuits. You may also take commissions of Charmies and offer commission types specifically tailored to Charmie characters.

If you're uncertain about any of the above, you are free to reach out to any of the moderators for discussions on profiting off of Charmies!
As long as you do not claim the species as your own and give credit when necessary, you can pretty much do anything!

What is prohibited to do with Charmies and Charmie characters

You may not create adoptable Charmies or take Charmie custom commissions - only moderators and official guest artists may do so!
See below on reselling and trading existing Charmie characters for guidelines on that.

You may not create illegal, immoral, inappropriate, or hateful content with Charmies.
You may not harass, solicit, or scam others using the Charmie species.

Content depicting major violence, realistic gore, and hard alcohol and drugs is discouraged.
Content depicting NSFW/18+ and suggestive content is discouraged as Charmies are intended to be based off of child-like and comforting themes.

Sharing artwork depicting the above topics within the groups will result in a strike and removal of the artwork.
Sharing depictions of "trippy" aesthetics, mild alcohol, weed, minor injuries/mild vent art, and candy gore are allowed, but please be mindful that any and all art may be removed from group galleries at the discretion of the moderators!

Individuals who identify as, associate with, or agree with the views of the following are unwelcome in the Charmie groups:
Anti-LGBTQA+, TERFs/truscum/transmedicalist, ableists, Autism Speaks supporters, racists, nazi/alt-right/centrist, bootlickers, "blue lives matter"/"all lives matter," pedophiles/babyfurs/lolis/ddlg*, zoophiles

*Age regressors not connected to these groups and who do not sexualize or fetishize children or childish content are welcome, as we understand that age regressing can be a viable and healthy coping mechanism for many people.

Reselling and trading Charmie characters

You may not create adoptable Charmies or take Charmie custom commissions - only moderators and official guest artists may do so!

Charmie characters can be resold, traded, or gifted at your own discretion.
You may resell a Charmie bought as an adopt only for the original price unless it comes with extra art.

You must include all versions of a design when selling / trading, including original, edited/redesigned, alt palettes/forms, etc!
If you have created a Charmie design as an alternate version to a pre-existing character, you cannot sell just the Charmie version.

Please note that some users may be blacklisted from participating in the Charmie groups - if the person you're trading to goes against the above unwelcome groups, please reconsider transferring ownership of a design to them.

Violators of the above rules will be warned and, on repeat or extreme offenses, be removed from the groups and prohibited from participating in group events and the species community. Moderators and other members may also blacklist the user from doing business, such as prohibiting purchase of art or adoptables.

Direct any questions regarding the rules and guidelines to CharmieCentral, or to theΒ Q&A, which may already have answers for your specific concern!
