Sure! From the guidelines and front page: 'The concept of putting objects into characters isn't a new one, nor one that Charmies are trying to own, trademark or copyright. Similarities to Charmies in character designs that don't belong to the species are of no issue and inspiration may be taken from the species concept.'
Also as long as you aren't using the Charmie name to scam, harass, deceive, or claim ownership over this specific species.

So is the beetle not part of the base pack?? The base pack advertises like a beetle option but I don't see it in the pack?, I really wanted to make a beetle
Oh also my art style often colors over lines so is it okay if I use the base and like edit/reline it with my brushes as long as the base is still credited?
which image are you looking at? /genq, the base pack image doesn’t show a beetle to my knowledge
and you can do whatever you’d like with the base with credit, re-lining it is fine :D
This is a really specific question, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but it is a design question!
So I came up with a really cool idea, would I be able to do some thing like this if I made a charmie for myself? ( my idea ) It's not from any open/closed species that I know of, I came up with it and thought it was cool.
It's like a slinky that is connected to each hand, its detachable. It really links up with things I like (slinkies) as an autistic person! :) Please let me know if it breaks any rules!

We don't have a time estimate for artist applications, sorry! Anyone can make and own Charmies, it is not friends only and we want to take on guest artists in the future but both of the mods have very busy lives and jobs so this species isn't a priority for either of us ^^; I am slowly working on stuff when I have the time!

All the updated info for Charmie designs can be found on the About The Species page! The only major difference is that deco aren't categorized into different types. We don't have a time estimate for the new species sheet, sorry!
Just a random question, but I wanted to make sure this is allowed before I make one, but could I make a giraffe charmie? I'm sure I would be able to but i just wanted to make sure aahhh😭
Probably not! Managing a constantly active group chat would be too much work for the few mods and I currently have no desire to make and run a discord server for a species group that is ultimately a fun little side project. I appreciate that people would want a server but I don't see us making one in the foreseeable future!
A few questions if that's alright,
1. Is there a limit or preferred amount to how many charmies we are allowed to add to the world per (certain amount of time)?
2. Is there a maximum amount to how many you can own?

Is it okay if we don't make some of them anthro? Or we don't include a few traits? It's really hard for me to draw anthro and feral makes me feel more comftorable. Either way, I love this species and I'll stick to Anthro & feral forms ^^

I scrolled through the Charmie Centeral Page thingy and noticed that the credit was to Eggy- I just wanted to let you know that they switched their account to a new one called Pinky! can i make my friends custom charmies for free? ik ur not allowed to make people them for profit and stuff but can you if its free?
is the masterlist only for mods charmies? if not, does our charmie have to go on the ML to be counted as one?
Hey there!
- Charmies can have all sorts of hairstyles, feel free to do whatever you'd like! Humanoid would just be actual people as Charmies with skin and stuff rather than animals or creatures
- Yes you can make Charmies for your friends as a gifts, the custom/adopt rule just applies to stuff like doing Charmie designs for profit.
- The Masterlist was for all Charmies but has been discounted and stopped being updated last year as it was getting to be tedious for our small team, we'll be deleting the masterlist soon as it's now unused. You're free to submit any Charmies you make here to the toyhouse world instead but I don't believe its 100% required, you just must be a member yourself
