While these new clans share mythology with those that came before and even consider those original clans as part of their history there is one myth that prevails only in the valley, the tale of the great cat that once lived in the lake.
Long ago a giant cat lived in the lake and laid claim to the entire valley. As he was growing old this great cat had four children and gave each of them a stream to control a portion of the valley but one of these children was not satisfied with just a section on the edge. This greedy cat killed the lake giant and tried to take control of the entire lake but his siblings learned of his treachery and attempted to stop him. They moved the island that once rested in the center of the lake and shoved it against the shore to try and block the greedy one's stream. They failed to completely cut off the 'bad' stream but succeeded in driving their greedy brother from the valley.
