Eyes

All Comet Dividers have only one eye. The missing eye does indeed have a socket, though it is completely empty inside. Attempting to put anything within the socket, such as a prosthetic eye, will cause the object to burn until it has disintegrated completely. It is suspected that the socket was the original entry point of the stardust when the Comet Dividers were first born, hence why the area burns so intensely. Typically, Comet Dividers like to accessorize by covering their eye with clothing and trinkets, but many also prefer simply keeping the eye shut. Their depth perception is rarely ever affected by having one eye.

Ears

A Comet Divider’s ear is quite fluffy and has a distinctive shape. Comet Dividers have exceptionally strong hearing, being able to hear almost twice as well as humans. They can adjust sensitivity as needed and typically do not require such a large range of hearing. They do not have human ears, and those with only one ear do not experience hindrance with their hearing or perception.

Antennae

Antennae have a few purposes. For the most part, they indicate the emotions of the Comet Divider. For example, they may droop to indicate sadness, perk up or emit a faint glow when happy, or wag back and forth when interested. They can also act as a sensor to designate North, East, South, or West. The little bits on their antennae are called “baubles,” and they can be any color and texture. Their antennae can be located anywhere on their scalp, and some only have 1 antenna.

Wings

Comet Dividers have wings to fly from comet to comet or to other planets. As such, they can fly quite fast, though they always appear graceful. They usually conceal their wings when they land, but some have one or both out when grounded for personal aesthetic reasons. They hover just behind their backs and flap gently when in motion.

Tails

A Comet Divider’s tail’s most notable use is in reproduction, forming a spiraled shape with another person when mating. Some have multiple tails while others have just one. Some see multiple tails as attractive, but there is no practical use for them, as only one per person is needed to reproduce. They can also be used to write or grab objects. The tail of an average Comet Divider reaches their thigh at the shortest and can reach up to 15 feet at its longest.

Markings

Markings can appear anywhere on the body and indicate a sort of ranking among the species. Generally, higher ranking species are seen as more desirable due to showing a closer connection to the Creators. As such, revealing one's marking when the Comet Divider in question is of a high rank can be seen as attractive. There is no physical use for markings other than preference, and some Comet Dividers have no marking at all.

Aging & Lifespan

The average Comet Divider lives to be around 500 years old. The higher the rarity of the Comet Divider, though, the longer their lifespan tends to be. Furthermore, the majority of Comet Dividers do not show their age physically, and their aging slows particularly dramatically at around 15-35 years old. Their age from this timespan mirrors the physical age of the average human.

Diet

Comet Dividers have no need to eat at all. Eating is purely for pleasure, and they do not gain sustenance from food. When a Comet Divider consumes food, it simply dissolves within their stomach, producing no waste. Most Comet Dividers will eat purely for the enjoyment of it, as they do have the sense of taste that is unique to each individual. Some, however, detest any form of food and will actively avoid eating altogether.

Body

A unique aspect of Comet Dividers is their skin. Their skin is highly resistant to temperature effects and prevents them from overheating, freezing, or generally feeling temperature. They cannot receive burns or frostbite because of this and are comfortable in any climate. Some still wear weather-appropriate clothing for aesthetic or out of politeness. Curiously, the blood and inner mouth of a Comet Divider can be any color.

Immune System

A Comet Divider's biggest physical weakness is their immune system. They are receptive to illnesses of most species and usually fall bedridden soon after contracting a serious disease. This does not mean all illnesses are fatal, however; it just means they are more potent. For example, a mild cold would resemble a more serious flu.

Height & Weight

Comet Dividers' height ranges from four feet to eight feet tall. The rarer they are, the taller they are likely to be due to their connection to their creators. Typically, their weight is just around ten or so pounds lighter than what a human's would be at their height.
