Culture

Language

Comet Dividers have a special ability that lets them learn any language within just a few hours. While they do use handwriting, their preferred method of writing is inscribing text using their tails.

Relationships

Comet Dividers may befriend individuals of any species or group, though some may be less sociable or even aggressive. When in a romantic relationship, Comet Dividers are notably protective of their romantic partner, going great lengths to ensure each other’s' safety. Both monogamy and forms of polygamy and polyamory are equally common in their relationships, and open polyamory is rare (due to their protective nature) but still possible. On the note of attraction, Comet Dividers are usually kept to their own species, but can be attracted to any humanoid being, as they are similar in appearance. Many Comet Dividers also do not desire attraction to any other being at all.

Gender & Sexuality

Technically, Comet Dividers are sexless; they do not have any of the reproductive organs of Earth species. Cultureally, however, many are not genderless. There are female, and male, and androgynous-appearing physical bodies that usually accompany the preferred gender of the person. Comet Dividers can be any human sexuality, and, due to their methods of reproduction, being of the same gender does not hinder the procreation of the species.

Reproduction

A minimum of two Comet Dividers are needed to reproduce. When they are ready to mate, they intertwine their tails in a helix-like shape. After about a minute, an egg will form below them. At this time, the egg will need to be nurtured (kept within a blanket or other such fabric) and attended to so it does not break. It takes a total of 2 years and 5 months for the Comet Divider to hatch, and, once birthed, it will resemble the average human toddler.

Religion & Beliefs

As Comet Dividers are a travelling species, they can adopt the beliefs of any culture they find. The most central belief of the Comet Dividers surrounds their Creators, Astra and Lunara. Most Comet Dividers revere them to some degree and participate in festivals and traditions in their honor. Of course, not all Comet Dividers conform to this, as some may come to loathe or ignore their presence.
