LORE

Disclaimer:

All of this lore is entirely optional to your Cyllenian. As long as you credit the species creation to us, you can put any lore onto them. This section is mostly thoughts on how Cyllenia itself works, along with it's relationship to the space colony it's in. This entire page is also a WIP indefinitely.

Some Cyllenians cannot die. Nobody has been able to find a cause for this, even researchers and scientists.. just can't find anything.

Cyllenians who cannot die can only kinda die, they just don't Stay dead. They'll usually wake up 12 hours, at home, with an awful hangover, and barely a clue to how they died, if they even have any memory of the event... (ie. if a Cyllenian drowned, they'd wake up coughing up water, or if one was killed with a knife... usually they'd be able to feel that for a few hours after waking up.) There won't be any scarring from these deaths, unless you decide that you want that! If a Cyllenian continues to die over and over, especially in a short span of time, the effects of coming back become worse. Memories become clearer and more upsetting as time goes on.

Canonically, being unable to die is considered a myth, why would anyone be able to come back from death? Of course it's fun to imagine; what if, what if? If you were a Cyllenian who died and told someone, they simply wouldn't believe you.

It's not a common thing, and those who can come back from death may not even realize that they can. Dying is usually not something you intend to do. If you wake up and you're fine, well, you're fine - other than the painful headache that goes away after a few hours.

Usually this ability to die repeatedly fades away around said Cyllenian's 130s.

----

Other than dying, Cyllenians have quite a few minor traits? If you want to call them that.

Generally, in my mind, they work like weird cat/lizard hybrids with human aspects.

- They can hiss. Less like cats, and more like lizards.

- Most Cyllenians can hold their breath under water a solid 10 minutes longer or so than humans.

- Look; they can have disabilities and disorders. And I'm not just talking wheelchairs and prosthetics and such - also talking Elhers Danlos Syndrome, Asthma, etc. Mental too; depression, addiction, dissociative disorders, ptsd, etc. While you don't have to do it yourself, it's generally important for that information to be put it out there that this is allowed. Make some cool disabled lads if you want, esp if it makes you happy to see yourself - I encourage it!

- Typically, Cyllenian tails can pop off and regrow like a lizard's if needed, for pretty much the same reason - defense. However there's not really much reason for them to be able to do this anymore, it's mostly a leftover from evolution, something that their ancestors needed. Their bodies never bothered to lose the ability.

- Their horns however, cannot regrow - once broken, it stays broken. Horn prosthetics do exist, however. As long as you don't use the prosthetics to make the horns look like a different tier (ie. a common Cyllenian having horn prosthetics that look like rare-tier horns), they can pretty much look like anything. Patterns!

- Other limb prosthetics can also be done with free reign, as long as you don't use them to create the illusion of a crossbreed or anything. You can make them look the same as if they don't have a prosthetic, or you could go wild and give them something sick with neat metal detailing and see-through sections. Really, again - aesthetic is key in the end!

- Without going too far into.. gross reproductive habits, generally was thinking they usually have litters of 3-7. Children resemble kittens for about 2 months or so before progressing into normal  human growth rate.

The World Itself - Cyllenia:

This information is a work in progress!

Cyllenia is a world very similar to our own, aside from the fact that it's part of a giant space colony. Eventually much more information will be written about The Hub, how it works, its future and history... But the TLDR is that The Hub refers to a large amount of worlds connected by a single space colony, many not being entirely aware that they're part of this colony.

See, the thing is, Cyllenia is very human. It's much like earth in many ways - culture, life, planet geography (less in terms of countries being the same and more just, lotsa water and land to live on). Technology inherently advances culture, so while that is an aspect, it's a bit of a messy one.

Since Cyllenia as a planet is so human, this is biggest reason why the 'optional lore' aspect is here. If you want to put them on Cyllenia, you can! If you want to put them somewhere else, some other world, some other story - do it! As long as you credit the species to sugarvamgar (and don't make money from it), your Cyllenian is yours.

("the hub itself is incredibly huge, spanning across multiple  universes - with different degrees of.. like, importance to the colony,  and Cyllenia is.. pretty high up in importance to the colony itself. so  life on Cyllenia is a little bit influenced by the concept of Incredibly  Advanced sciences meaning their technology is like, a bit better than  ours? Not like flying cars and holograms or something, but generally  just. Better.")
