about the cyllenian's future, i've been considering bringing them back with some fundamental changes, but it'll take a while for me to actually get around to it due to personal events.
most likely what would happen is an entire overhaul on;

1. how it's run
2. maybe no longer having it be a closed species
3. loosening up the group rules in general
4. reworking how the species itself works, along with adding more worldbuilding
5. redrawing the guide rule sheet
6. ...maybe making it so they don't need to be transmasc.

as much as i loved how the cyllenians functioned, along with slightly using them as an experiment of sorts, it'd be better to be realistic about this - them requiring being transmasc was not doing them any favours. i made them trans to encourage the creation of transmasc ocs and being more creative in making them, as most people make transmasc characters as a Cis Guy with a Binder/Top Surgery Scars or a scruffy emo kid in a hoodie. While those character designs are by no means bad, they're certainly.. significantly overdone?
in all honesty, i got quite a bit of people contacting me about that.
they did not like that i wanted the characters to be trans. frankly, it was half the reason i went on hiatus. it didn't feel great to get yelled at about something as harmless as this. unfortunate naivety on my part, i guess.

although i will admit, i certainly didn't actually give the cyllenians enough of a chance before shutting down, but half of that can be blamed on a mental health dip that i didn't recognize was happening before it was too late.

tldr; cyllenians will most likely come back at some unspecified point, albeit with significant changes.

Hello everyone. Unfortunately, we need to go on hiatus.

This was a hard decision to make. We really did not want to do it this so soon into the Cyllenians existence, but circumstances in nearly all of the main moderator's lives have caused this all to be a bit too difficult too fast to reliably run. This hiatus by no means will be permanent - it's just that right now all of our lives are too hectic to be reliable enough to run this, and it's currently what's best for the moderation team.

To reiterate, we have not lost interest in the Cyllenians! The issue is that we just currently cannot run this and we would rather run this right over running this halfheartedly due to a lack of energy.

We may still hold small events and will most likely still work on an effort to implement the points system, but we have no proper estimated time that it'll come.

We'll still keep an eye on the discord server and the forums. To anyone who has unredeemed MYO tickets, we'll keep a look out for any MYO approval applications.

Either way, we genuinely thank anyone who have bought any Cyllenians so far. It's an honor to have people pay attention to this species.

Welcome to something we're gonna try out; a news bulletin once a month. In the future, we're wanting this to happen towards the beginning of the month, but we still have news in general, so it's only fair we do this now!

August 25th at 12pm CST is when the next MYO event will start, and it'll end on September 1st at 12am CST! We'll post another bulletin for when it starts.


As for general news, we're planning on implementing a point system in the future. It'll serve as an alternative way to upgrade your Cyllenians tier or buy a common MYO slot without money, as well as a way to commission art from people, if they allow it as a form of currency! We may also implement more things you can purchase as time goes on.

If you participate in other closed species communities, the way you'd gain these points is likely something you've seen before; creating art and writing, along with a few other generally-existing-in-the-community ways, ie. owning a Cyllenian for a set amount of time.
Currently, we're still working on this system, so we can't tell you what actions would award you how much points yet. We'll certainly make an announcement once this system is ready, along with a guide on how to keep track of your points, what gains points, how to spend them, etc.
