What happens when a force above yourself gives you the power to see what is behind everything you have come to know? When seeing pass one entity's curtain leads you down a path that spirals far longer and with more branches than you could ever realize? When you realize what you know and who you know may have not only been not who they say they were, but something that shouldn't have even been possible?
Hearts of the Abyss is a comic that follows four girls; Runa, Angela, Miku and Jessie as they begin their lives as Chosen with their new Canochi, the mysterious monsters that inhabit their world, that seemed to be gifted to them by the heavens themselves. Already having their sights on distrusting the nation-wide monopoly Centaurus due to recent events if only any of them knew how deep the rabbit hole they were about to go down was.
Things are not what they seem. The universe is a stage. The next great play is about to begin.

On that day, my heart crumbled in silence. Even though I scream at being broken, inerasable memories and darkness flow into my eyes. And I sink into tomorrow whose colors can't even be seen anymore.
CAST
Runa
A blind woman who suffers from amnesia, she mysteriously arrived in Puppis Town only two years ago with no memory of her past what so ever save for her name and the fact she has a twin sister no one has seen yet... One can't help but feel odd when she retells her story.
Angela
Daughter of two of the most well known people in Puppis and currently a waitress at a local diner. She is peppy, friendly and has all the qualities one would expect for someone her age, however she seems to struggle connecting with others on a truly deep level.
Miku
A spunky gal with a passion for competition. She loves forming playful rivalries and bonding with even the weirdest of people. Taking life with absolute vigor! However... There is something... Distant about her gaze that never seems to leave even when she is at her most comfortable.
Jessie
A local troublemaker with rumored connections to the underground vigilante group "Argos". She is a wild spitfire that is hard to control, but her heart lies with the path of what she believes to be true justice. However she often struggles being emotionally vulnerable with others.
Renae
The mysterious twin, no one has seen her despite her sister's claims. She is described to be a gentle giant with a love of things that grow and more. However... Can that which cannot be seen really be fine with that forever?
Marianette
A freelance journalist who almost seems scared of her own shadow. Someone who would rather flee a conversation if it doesn't have to do with work, yet she has a good heart... But how much does it take for a good heart to do the wrong thing?
Lamia
A science professor with a past chained in darkness. It seems she has broken free of what use to be her life, eccentric and motherly she seems the perfect mix for a wacky yet lovable professor... Although... Are those chains really broken?
Dax
Rather solitary, he is a freelance artist who is most at peace when creating. Although that is perhaps the one time he has any peace. Bitter, mean, and foul-mouthed. He is a man governed by the past in near every sense. After all... If only given a palette of dark colors, what else can you paint with?
