Beast

**ABSTRACT**

Beast is a grumpy fox who is just starting to learn how to love the world. He is slow to warm up but it’s understandable considering his hermit past. Him and his mate Riptide travel the world with their daughter Calypso and their son Desmond in a majestic pirate ship. He is a wonderful father and a caring mate to her. 

**BACKGROUND**

Beast is a prince of a Kingdom long forgotten. His family were of noble blood and did well to care for their kingdom until the curse of greed befell them. Every generation became more and more secluded in the castle, ignoring their kingdom and reveling their jewels. Eventually, the people moved away, entirely deserting their homeland. However, the royal family did not seem to notice.

One by one the royal family members died off from seclusion and neglect to care for themselves. In the end only Beast was left, caring for the empty castle full of dusty treasures and spiderwebs. He was a complete hermit having never stepped a foot outside his castle when Riptide came along on her ship to discover him locked away in his lonely tower. 

She quickly recognized the curse that had befallen him, and with her charisma and kindness, she convinced him to leave to start a new life elsewhere. He was reluctant to leave, not knowing what the outside world would bring him. Not to mention leaving his treasures behind was unfathomable! Riptide somehow managed to convince him to leave his toxic treasure and they set sail to start an adventure together. 

He was amazed and saddened by how much of his life he had wasted locked up in that castle. He quickly learned that the real treasure is nature, adventure, and family. The two quickly fell in love and had their daughter Calypso who is his pride and joy. Shortly after they had their Son Desmond. He is more of a momma’s boy but Beast loves him just as much.

After leaving his castle he quickly became obsessed with gardening. He loves growing roses and other unique flowers. He isn’t much of a fighter so while Riptide is out kicking ass he is scouring the islands for new plant life he can collect and grow. He even managed to make a fully functioning vegetable garden for their ship when they are out at sea so they never go hungry. It turns out he isn’t a bad cook either.

From a young age his son started exhibiting strange behaviors. He was always a spacey kid but recently he's been coming up with wild stories that not even a child could make up. Stories of multiverses and on some occasions he even managed to predict the future. 

Concerned, Riptide and Beast took him to see Tiy Rah. After analyzing him she discovered that Desmond has "the gift". He is indeed a psychic. 

After this was revealed Beast told Riptide of the lore of his people. His family came from a long line of psychics. The town's people honored the family for their gift and raised them up to be the leaders of their nation. Beast's great grandmother foresaw the great tragedy which would soon befall them but no one listened. Unfortunately, once the curse of greed plagued their family, they lost their ability to use their powers and were too enamored with their jewels and treasures to care. By the time Beast was born everyone was so brainwashed by the curse that the past psychics of their family were now viewed as a distant legend. 

By the time Riptide broke the curse it was too late for Beast to gain his blood born power as it must be kindled from a young age. Psychic power can form in one of two ways from this bloodline. One is the ability to have visions of the future and the other is a weaker version in which the beholder is simply more intuitive than the average person. Many compare it to a "gut feeling". Now knowing that the curse breaking has rekindled the magic in his bloodline, Beast and Riptide are allowing Desmond to seek training from Tiy Rah and are watching Calypso closely for signs of it as well. 

**RELATIONSHIPS**

**Riptide** Love of his life and his hero. She saved him from wasting his life on material goods and showed him adventure and family. Now they have a beautiful daughter together and life couldn’t be better!

**Calypso** His beautiful daughter who he treasures more than any jewel in the world. She is his pride and joy and he loves spending time with her.

**Desmond** His cute little Son. Desmond is the sweetest, kindest little soul. Beast could not be prouder of having a son as pure as him.
