Don's Links
Don honestly doesn't mind Annie near as much as his sister, He feels sort of bad for her with how much Carmen tends to pick on her and her brother. Tries to be kind with her, since...well, she's never really given him a reason NOT too. Besides that, he finds her stubborness...really charming, if he's being honest.
Annie's wary around Don, but she appreciates how much nicer he is than his sister. She finds Don to be pretty cool in that strong bodyguard kind of way, and there's something so soothing about talking to him (during those rare moments). She's only ever had these feelings around handsome anime men...!
Don looks up to his grandfather, he really does, but he's just not the kind of fighter that he wants him to be. He tries his best, but he really does wish Taka would see that sometimes fighting isn't the first solution to go to. Still, he tries his best to impress his grandfather, even if it's not something that is really him.
[Related] Taka is Don's grandfather. He loves the kid and sees a LOT of potential in him. He's a mountain of a man with the strength to back it up but he chooses to do this shit called PACIFY?! HE DOESN'T EVEN BOWL?! Taka loves Don but this can be very disappointing. Whenever he's around he tries to get Don to see the better side of being a rowdy mobster.
Carmen's little brother. He's always looked up to his older sister, though as he's gotten older, he wishes she'd reel it back JUST a bit. Still, his family comes first, and he'll always follow her lead (even if he lingers behind to try to do some damage control afterwards)
Don's older sister. Carmen's fiercely protective of her lil' bro, even though he's only a year younger and just as capable as she is. She hopes that if he follows her for long enough he'll toughen up...eventually, right?
Don often feels as though he isn't quite living up to the expectations of the mob, especially when he compares himself to his father. He tries very hard not to disappoint, and to be a good future second-in-command like he should, but...he feels it's pretty clear that his heart isn't in it.
Justis cares deeply for his youngest, but at the same time he's...intrigued by Don. He seems to have inherited a more gentle personality than Carmen has, and it leads to some worry about how he'll fit in with the family lifestyle. For now he'll stand back and keep a close eye on his son to see how this develops.
His grandmother is the one person in his family that Don doesn't feel like he has to constantly prove himself to, and he takes great solace in her company. He truly enjoys being with her, and feels she's the only one who he can be open about his hesitations towards the mob life with.
Colette feels a very close bond with her grandson, considering that he seems to have similar feelings about the mob. She enjoys talking with Don about the going-on's in his life, and offers support.
Don didn't even know about his uncle's existence until he was older, but he knew that if he was going to get out of the mob life, he was going to need help. He's grateful for his uncle's help and guidance.
[Related] Don's uncle. Don is the son of a mob boss and is raised with this idea of breaking the law for financial gain... yet he doesn't seem completely sold on doing it. Gil sees some potential for redemption through him, and when he's approached for help, he takes Don under his wing and helps set him up with a job at a police station he trusted.
[Related] Ellie's son. Don wishes he could be more open about his discomfort with the mob life, but as much as he trusts his mother, it's hard to consider her a confidant in the situation, since she chose the life herself. Still, he knows that his uncle is in law enforcement, so maybe...
[Related] Don's mother. Ellie always noticed her son, despite his size, was perhaps the most gentle in the family. He always showed some form of discomfort when it came to everyone's rowdiness, but would follow them around nonetheless. She's aware of it, but she isn't sure what to do about it. Her brother would know, though...
