Lt Kem "Heron" Olan (normally referred to by his nickname since there is another guy on this ship who shares his family name and rank). Serves as science officer aboard The Dragon (sentient ship which kind of just trapped a bunch of guys on it and now they have to deal with that.)
Cardassian war orphan who was adopted by a Bajoran family at a young age. Stoic and hyperserious with the obligatory tortured hybrid shtick. Completely Bajoran-socialised, so every Cardassian he meets thinks he is an absolute fruit.

Stuff:
- for those who don't know, Bajoran names are written Lastname Firstname. So, on duty he's (officially) Lt. Kem; off duty, friends get to call him Olan.
- adopted brother of Kem Valier
- crazy about the Prophets. Actually had an orb experience once and will not shut up about it.
- not as touchy-feely as my Bajorans usually are, but that's only because nobody wants to snuggle a cardassian.
- Bajorans love to make deep eye-contact, which a lot of other species find adorable on account of their big wet eyes. It is considerably less adorable when a cardassian does it.
- as is typical for cardassians, he has an eidetic memory.
- My Cardassians are like 7' on average. Heron is even taller than that. The Dragon, bless her, has raised the benches in the lab to better suit him.
- My Cardassians have long black feathers instead of hair. They fluff up when he's upset.
- Also, has a tail.
- may or may not be one of dukat's many, many illegitimate children.
