How they met

Emil had been a man of successes since his discovery of the cure of the Mad Cow disease. But he was trying to reach even greater heights after he saved a whole species from an exponentially growing sickness. He caught the attention of Demos: A progressively successful business who took no chances when it grew its own corporation, but also had been in the works of a powerful organization that could only be run in secrecy... or at least the President himself. Even the corporation itself was no aware of its existence. Roselo wasn't willing to risk any chances of using up his own funds to help further his research, hence he joined the group with no problems. Despite it being sparse, it was quite powerful considering the members that partook in the organization - the group lasted for a couple of decades before Emil entered its ranks as an Administration member.

He had little to no interests in benefitting the Prodigal as an organization itself. As long as he did his portion of his work as an Administration Member, he'd get the money he needed for whatever research he deemed interesting. The drive of advancing humans was his biggest interest so far.

But during his endeavors in the organization, had met Demos himself. This was before the first big exposure, and Atticus thought it was fine for him to keep a decent connection between him and his members.

Emil, the first time he touched him, had felt an overwhelming feeling of power exuding from his body. It wasn't that he became so interested in his body, but the desire admiring it was rather apparent. Roselo was working for the Prodigal more than the labs he's been working for - just to grab every little bit of Atticus's attention.

He very much knew that Grandfather had an underlying existence other than being the President of his own corporation. And it was more than being the origin of the Prodigal overall.

Their Relationship

Between his first romantic relationship (to which had been the day he left Japan) to his encounter with Emil, Atticus had no interests in pursuing any relationship since the events with his late lover, Ibiki.

Yet, since their first (sensual) meeting, one could compare their meeting like a light switch. It started off with a hitch, where Demos was only giving in his curiosity and cravings of sexual contact. It all started with a single night at a hotel room after Emil was more than willing to cooperate with his superior in trying to meet their targets. But since then they'd part to do their own duties.

Their schedules never matched. There was no dates. It was always short-ended conversations every time they saw each other because there were other things that they both needed to attend to. Yet there was at least a period where their minds couldn't leave each other - the flame would only ignite within them and they would only immediately hit it off before they'd distance themselves again. Such periods lasts between a few days to even a few months of being together. No complaints afterwards. No problems brought up.

Not until it being at least the fifth or sixth period where they saw each other again. Atticus was wholeheartedly considering their relationship. He was tired of the distancing and it was more likely that Demos was always thinking about it since Emil always came back to him. Grandfather insisted that the next time they meet, he'd finally finalized their relationship and create something more official - Demos was hoping he'd made Roselo a compatible partner.

However, his decision changed after two discoveries:

First, Roselo had married someone else to sooth his comfort of loneliness. Let alone, they had made their first child. He didn't realize that their separation between each romantic period would become like that and Emil would be totally given up on the relationship. Even if it was temporary.

And second, he also discovered Emil's given income from the Prodigal was being sent into a inconspicuous research facility that has yet been accepted in both public health and science departments. And delving deep enough, Emil had an obsession with his own research and his experiments truly became unethical and much more destructive than he was expecting it to be. Countless of bodies were missing solely because of Roselo's test runs. He immediately shut it down and suspended his ex-partner before things turned out for the worse.

Funny thing is that, he was more upset about marrying someone else behind his back than the whole secret lab facility. He was even more upset when Emil was more than willing to throw his committance away of his wife and child if it meant he could be with Demos forever. Emil thought of it different, but Atticus felt as if his mindset regarding relationships would simply clash.

But since he got rid of Emil, he truly disappeared from the world. Even Demos became curious and used money and his own power to search for Emil, the outcome ended in nothing. Eventually Demos moved on from him, but occasionally he'd try to seek for him again - but all attempts only ended in failures. ... Not until Atticus's current spouses found him finally.

How Atticus feels

Before Emil's disappearance, he thought he fell in love. It was a rivalry at first, but rivalry ended up in a rather aggressive kiss-and-makeup session. Not that he complained, he just didn't expect such fluttering feelings come from that.

In his own eyes, Roselo was a spectacular individual. He wasn't a bright eyed fellow, neither innocent. He was a mature, clever minded, and playful. More importantly, he was both obedient and yet rebellious - enough to continue to pique Grandfather's interests. It was all admiration and he never wanted to stop Emil from pursuing his own goals. He only hoped that he'd achieve those goals with Demos by his side.

But until he vanished, Demos's mindset towards Roselo went downhill. He thought of him negatively. All of that admiration turned to words like "disgusting," "annoying," and most commonly "foolish and idiotic" towards Emil. Surprisingly enough, Demos never once that said he hated him. Most of these negative feelings showed when he came back to the Prodigal several years later, but he will admit that hate never comes to mind towards Emil - no matter how despicable and a hindrance he is to Atticus nowadays.

What surprised him, is that Roselo is as protective to the Overseer (and Hope), as much as Grandfather is. To a point where he's more than willing to give up his life for their safety. He's not sure if he was going to great lengths to make Atticus see nothing but good in him, but this was one of the reasons why he doesn't hate him.

If there was a day where he didn't have anyone else - where his spouses and children are gone - he feels like Emil would be the only one left.
That is, if Emil could find him when he disappears off the face of the Earth.

How Emil feels

Since he was gifted the presence of such an individual, Atticus practically his object of affection. Or perhaps his obsession - next to his research. He was thoroughly hellbent in trying to get Demos's full attention - likely becoming his dog or provided the best results in his work in the Prodigal. He worked endlessly just so Atticus could compliment him, even if it was just the tiniest of things. All Roselo wanted was just a taste of him, in both his human and demonic existence.

And when he did - Atticus's actions were beyond his expectations. In Emil's eyes, Demos sought him as his partner. Never did he expect that the man he admired wholeheartedly would be wanting him as well.

Being with Demos was one of the most finest moments in his life, and it was unfortunately such moments need to come to an end. Emil had more important things to attend, otherwise there would never be some sort of breakthrough in his researching.
Despite carrying out his duties in the Prodigal, the rest of his free time were often in the labs of his own facility rather than besides his partner. At that point, he was hoping that Atticus would move on from him so that Roselo could be left alone. Emil even married another woman and had a child together from this outcome.

But overall, Emil's view towards Atticus... never changed. Demos was a perfect man. Both inside an out. In fact, Roselo only wanted to be ended by him - no one else. Grandfather exuded both power and control. He was a gentleman to others, but could never be toppled or broken by the rest. Roselo didn't want to be told by anyone - he considered himself an untamed bull who didn't want to be controlled by anyone... except for him.

Most of Emil's admiration towards Atticus, are all more so physical reason. The way he was built, the way he looked. He has strength beyond a normal human. He was a raging beast. He lived for over two centuries. Of course, his personality complimented his looks, but he rarely did think mostly about how Demos felt before Emil was expelled. It was until he left and separated himself away from the Prodigal (as far as possible). He never acted like it, but when he was expelled by Grandfather... he didn't feel anything else but sorrow. All of his losses he's gone through, he blamed everything that he disfavored towards Atticus... though that "hate" wasn't very long before he realized his errors.

And when Milkfather came back, he wanted to try and amend his relationship into something a bit better than enemies. He admits his mistakes regarding ending their relationship unofficially and he becomes pushy towards addressing the situation between the two.
He is more than willing to risk his life for the people that Grandfather treasures the most - his two spouses - as he understands it clearly, but as well he can hope to see reason to forgive him.

Trivia

  • The title, Milkfather, was most likely influenced by Atticus's title, Grandfather.
    > Emil neither confirms or denies this.
  • When Emil entered the Prodigal, Atticus admits that he was Emil's mentor.
    > Almost all of Emil's business strategies were all adopted by Grandfather's.
    > Even the way he talks sometimes is somewhat similar to Atticus's, although just a bit more playful and light-hearted.
  • Emil is the second individual to be marked by Grandfather. (Refer to Grandfather's trivia in his main profile for marking).
  • Emil has put so much substantial work and research into his Mad Cow serum. Applying the serum allows a normal human to perform physical challenges beyond what the normal human are capable of.
    > A good chunk of the Mad Cow serum has probably been from implementing Grandfather's DNA into it.
    > Emil has taken several samples of Atticus's DNA in several forms to be able to extract particular parts and put into the serum. However, because of several experiments failed due to inputting too much of Grandfather's additions, they had to be selective and limited, Emil was only able implement some of those limits into his own body... hence red eyes and the very long lifespan.
  • Atticus sees Emil as his rival now. Emil, however, sees him as a rival too... but also the man of his dreams still.
    > Still tries to sleep with him. As expected, all attempts have been rejected.
  • Because of Atticus's dedication to the Prodigal, Emil decides to do the same as well. Many of the things that Atticus has done, chances that Emil would have done the same exact thing.
    > Knowing that, Demos's full care, attention, and very protective towards the Overseer and Agent Hope... Emil does the same thing. Roselo may not act like it, but it's likely he'd use his own body and mind to keep those two safe.
