- - Her name, Ivy, is a type of plant, always a solid in the Pokemon setting. Originally, I wanted to name her Briar, but I both already had a fankid with that name and it felt silly to have her name exactly match her parent's ship name. Why Ivy doesn't have thorns the way briar shrubs do, it can still have a "sting" if it's poison ivy. Thus the two plants are loosly related in my mind.
