PROFILE
Emma is Dylan's younger sister, who went through the foster care system with him and who decided to stick with him as though they were siblings at birth. Unlike Dylan, who is athletic and not very book-smart, Emma is the quiet, intelligent sibling. They always got good grades in school seemingly effortlessly, and has a quiet, observational air about them. Because of how quiet she can be, that makes Dylan all the more protective of her, and encouraging for her to stand up for her own needs.
Although she never connected very well with people besides her brother, Emma always had a way with, and a heart for, animals. At first, she was interested in becoming a veterinarian, but began aiming higher towards zookeeping, as she was fascinated by a wider and more exotic range of animals. They also have a huge passion towards animal ethics and making sure that animals in zoos live good, happy, safe lives, with no corners cut. So even though neither she nor Dylan could afford a college education, Emma got jobs working at various zoos, doing her best to learn and studying independently.
Eventually, Emma and Dylan discovered Sally, a ringmaster for a self-made circus. Given that the two were struggling to meet rent and their job prospects were beginning to suffer, they decided to join her traveling band. With a reasonable budget, Emma was able to secure her own animals, her favorite of which is a male lion. Given her passion for ethics and safety, Emma always makes sure that her animals are well-taken care of, unlike other circuses which are infamous for cruelty and abuse.
PERSONALITY
Emma is a very quiet, very deadpan person. They're the type of person who is described as a "joy to be in class", as they are simple, quiet, and hardworking. However, their quietness certainly does not equate to lack of friendliness. People who approach Emma can tell that they are actually a very caring soul, with lots of heart -- they just struggle to show it outwardly. Emma is at her most affectionate when she's by the side of some animal, and that's when a person can best observe her bright, happy smile. She also has a way of reading people that is very apt, hence the reason why out of everyone in the circus troupe, she is probably the one who is most wary of Sally, and most keen to her dishonest methods. To the younger members of the troupe, Emma is a steadfast cornerstone of their world, a calming and safe presence to be around. There are also times where she can be a very wry, cheeky personality, thanks to her quiet intelligence.

- In high school she enjoyed tutoring people in various subjects, and briefly considered a tutoring career.
- Emma spends a lot of their spare time training their animals in new tricks, giving their animals lots of positive reinforcements and treats.
- Emma loves surfing but rarely gets the chance to do it, as it's too cold on the East Coast. Just as well, swimming and diving are well within her skillset.
- They also very much enjoy Shark Week, and have religiously made Dylan watch it with them annually.
- She has dozens and dozens of library cards, since they travel to lots of different cities and she always wants to use the facilities there.
- Dylan theorizes that Emma has loved animals ever since one of their longtime foster parents got her a baby kitten as a welcome gift.
