Profile

It might all be a lie, but I still have to try.

Name Bella
Age 12
Pronouns She/They
Role Protagonist

Bella is the main protagonist and playable character of Angel Wings. She’s a sweet girl, doing her best to save the world she’s been thrown into, despite the seemingly endless array of villains standing in her way. No matter where she goes, more and more people find themselves desperate to stop her, but why would they? She’s just trying to help. She just wants to save everyone. She just wants to go home.

Personality

Kind Lonely Determined

Bella is a young Deaf girl who lives in a small home with her parents. She’s an only child, and often finds herself isolated from those around her. She enjoys reading books instead, losing herself in the fantasy of the worlds within to distract her from how cruel the real world can be to her. She daydreams often of being able to explore and set out on an adventure of her own, but her various illnesses keep her from being able to wander too far from home by herself.

Bella has never let anything her life throws at her keep her down, and finds joy in everything she can. She has a special interest in bunnies, and has many different plushies, figurines, and clothes items with the animal on them. She never goes anywhere without her rabbit-themed outfit, particularly the mask and gloves.

While Bella remains shy and reserved when out in public, her family sees an entirely different side of her. She can become rather stubborn when around those she’s familiar with, and never gives up on any projects she starts. She just wants to make the world a better place because she was in it, and is always searching for a way to do so.

Story

Bella was reading in her room one day when she was interrupted by a bird getting caught in her window. She freed it only to be shocked at it speaking to her. She was unable to lipread a bird, and so agreed to what it said with no idea what she was getting herself into.

Angel brought her to their fantasy world, granting her the masked form she dons while there. She was tasked with making her way through the world to fight Aurelius, the villain leading the land to ruin. She agreed, too excited to go on a fantasy quest to question why she was asked to do these things.

Along the way, almost everyone she met tried to get her to stop. She didn’t understand why, she was just trying to help. When it was understood that she would never back down, others tried to help make her journey as easy as they could. She was often gifted items and equipment for free, and she never turned them down.

When Bella finally made it to Aurelius, she was surprised to find someone who seemed just like her. With Angel fleeing the fight, Aurelius explained to her that she had been trapped from the second she entered the world. She could either stay and die in the inevitable fight, or take Aurelius’ gentle offer to finally go home. This quest was not hers to complete. It never was.

Bella was never meant to be here. Despite how much she wanted to be the hero everyone expected her to be, this was always Angel’s fight to pick. Child after child had been dragged into a conflict they had no reason to continue. After one of them died, Aurelius dedicated himself to getting these kids home as fast as possible, and Bella was no exception. She didn’t know if she wanted to leave. She still wanted to help. It was all she’d ever wanted to do.
