Soren

"Apollo felt the movement of something moving up besides him. "Did- D-do you want to go hunting with me?" Asked the chunky dragon that had quietly crept up to him. Apollo wasn't too sure what species they were, but judging by that tail, he knew that this one would be a strong swimmer. Apollo then realized that his delayed reaction to the question had in turn resulted in the stranger looking worried and uncomfortable. "Its okay if you don't want to! Sorry, I should have at least said hello first or something, i'll go find another par-" Apollo cut them off before they could scuttle away. "I'd love to!" Said Apollo, offering a big grin to the anxious dragon in hopes of making them feel better."

Soren is a hardy Swamp Strider from south, who lived their day to day wading through mud and mangroves. Swamp Striders don't stick around to raise their young once an egg is laid, so Soren has become quite the independent individual. However due to the dangers of the environment, they've seen some wear and tear and secretly hold in a lot of anxiety. They aren't confident in their ability, especially after the loss of their back leg in an encounter with another much bigger and older Swamp Strider. In the end, Soren decided that their environment was not safe enough for them, especially if it meant losing more sleep or more importantly, limbs. Soren slowly made their way to the Dragonic Academy over a long period, kinda floating around until they found a place that didn't feel dangerous for more than a few nights. They overthink about everything and cant help but catastrophize but they're also pretty good at holding a straight face around others and pretending that they're fine (Although, Apollo can see right through it.) They're excited to potentially make a friend (at least one would be nice) at the academy.

Swamp dragons have a venomous bite which can be controlled on command as well as huge paddle like tail which is good for swimming. The ridge along their back is akin to a crocodile. They can produce a tiny amount of fire like Azure Mountain Dragons, but mostly just smoke that burns the throat. Soren is given armour made from mahogany wood specially designed and enchanted for their species, which enhances their toxic abilities by making their poison faster acting and allowing them to spit and breath acid (in liquid and gas form).
