The Thirtieth Spirit is Forneus. He is a Mighty and Great Marquis, and appeareth in the Form of a Great Sea-Monster. Heteacheth, and maketh men wonderfully knowing in the Art of Rhetoric. He causeth men to have a Good Name, and to have the knowledge and understanding of Tongues. He maketh one to bebeloved of his Foes as well as of his Friends. - S. L. MacGregor Mathers, Goetia

Forneus is one of the seventy-two ancestral demons, a group of particularly powerful and high-standing demons who were around even before the splitting of Celesti. Older than Bifrons but not nearly as snooty, Forneus is a rough-and-tumble, fun-loving guy, who can often be found outside of Celesti causing trouble and cracking jokes with humans. His upbeat and outgoing nature has even made him a few friends among the angelic citizens of Celesti, a rarity among demons, especially in the ancestral clan. Don't expect a discount because he's nice, though- like any ancestral demon, his services don't come cheap. An expert in linguistics and rhetoric, Forneus seems fluent in every language, learning all of the little quirks and oddities of any given way of speaking in seconds. He shares this knowledge with anyone who can afford his prices.

As well, he has the ability to temporarily forge artificial friendships between even the most bitter of enemies, though this is an ability he doesn't use often, and generally only pulls to quickly stop conflicts among his fellow demons, because they're annoying, he's tired, and he refuses to put up with it.

Unsurprisingly given his cephalopodic anatomy, Forneus is an excellent swimmer and feels at home in or around water. He's easiest to summon around natural bodies of water, especially near rivers or lakes (as much as he loves water, saltwater doesn't feel good on his skin).
