"Algy. Neither mama or papa aren't forcing you to be like them. Take this opportunity to discover what you want to do in your life. You said you like ice skating. You should start with that?"
- Alexandra
Algernon is the second eldest child, next to her older sibling Alexandra - but overall there are about five children under the Chevalier family. In traditional sense, Algy believes that him, being the oldest male sibling, he becomes worried about being responsible in some type of manner.
Since he started school, he was already helping his family by learning how to use the sewing machine to help their parents' business. And on the side he found peace skating in an ice rink by himself, since the day his mother brought him there due to his own curiosity. However, he was on the verge of giving up ice skating to dedicate more to his parents' business... until his big sister stopped him.
Taking her suggestion in focusing on ice skating, he dedicated more of his extra activities on perfecting the rink.
"What could I say about young Chevalier? Well, there's so many things to talk about him! I've never seen a young man THIS good in a such a long time! It's quite unfortunate - he doesn't seem to get along well with the other students but he's very much the greatest of them all. Perhaps if he could work a bit on his socialization, he'll be absolutely perfect."
- Mrs. Guerin
Among the teachers, they claimed that everything that Chevalier touched, he took a short amount of time to master it. He has been a child prodigy since birth, but the reputation he built made it harder for him to get along with his classmates. He survived most of his schooling befriending more teachers than other students. Once he started school, his academics were at the top of the line, beyond many of the students.
However, his condescending attitude made him fairly unwanted by many in the private academy. Algernon eventually made more enemies rather than friends. Therefore his parents decided that they'd put him in home school later in his years, while having him upkeep many of his extra-curricular activities.
But his only source of comfort was the peace of skating on ice. Since starting school, he partook ice skating as a sport - but also mixing several activities such as piano, violin, viola, and even the clarinet. Musical instruments were the only things that he liked to busy himself with... whenever skating wasn't the priority.
But starting at 15, he wanted to partake ice skating more seriously. This meant he wanted to professionally join contests and bring home trophies to appease his parents. Competition after competition, Algernon was gaining a traction of his talents on the rink until his notoriety hit sky high.
"The 'Ice Angel' is what they call him. He's absurd. Condescending. Mean to talk to if you disagree with him in any sort of manner. But you can't deny his work. Look how beautiful he appears when the light hits him. He deserves that title and no one cannot strip that title away."
- ???
Algernon finished school and his mind never left the idea of ice skating. With the help of his wealthy parents, he often found himself with given opportunities. But nothing else seemed to take interest in him except for when it came to ice skating, suits, and even about his personal appearance.
The further he delved himself into this as a professional career, the more famous he became. Especially when he was trained by one of the best skating coaches in the continent, he was already reaching Olympic champion titles by the days he was in his early twenties.
After his first gold medal in the Olympics - he was given the title of "Ice Angel." Since then, Chevalier had no intentions of anything else but winning and performing the best in his programs.
But at some point a traveling businessman who visited the home of the well known Chevalier family, seeking possible opportunities of potential around the world. It was then, he caught the attention of Algernon.
"What is your plan in the long run, my dear? Live the rest of your life as the 'Ice Angel'? Has your success been enough to give you the acknowledgement of the lifetime?"
- Demos
The longer he spent the businessman known as Atticus, the more he developed an interest to his overall existence. Let alone, his life. To a point he was more than willing to toss off his title, family, and career just to be by his side. Surely enough, this man took his hand and left his hometown and into America in less than three-four months. He made his living as Demos's personal assistant and occasionally took the talents of from his parents and sister and used it as his own to design and tailor his and his superior's clothes.
To leave behind his old life, he used Atticus's power to change his alias. His new name, Maximille allowed him leave peacefully without being pestered by his siblings. Although, because of his older sister's stubbornness, it didn't take long neither much for Alexandra to appear in his life again. Thankfully, she had no desire to drag him back home, and often supported his choices as a tailor.
But Maximille's goals and desires were not to gain so much of the attention for his superior. Instead, Durand's choices often reasoned about following in his footsteps, as he resembled someone far greater than the normal human man. At first, he was only Atticus's temporarily lover. He was merely his role model. And strictly chose to dedicate his life attending to his orders whenever he was personally requested.
During the five years sine he left his former home, he stood by Demos while he was overseeing an organization that was capable of tipping the scales of the whole balance of the world. Durand, very unsure of how this would turn out, he never complained or spoke against his plans.
But he had the power to do so. And once the wheels of the organization (the Prodigal) started to turn, there were already people knocking on his door to join his cause. His request that was personally addressed to Algernon, only wished for him to help him prosper the group under his supervision. This meant, he had a goal to search brilliant masterminds, big influential, and most importantly find the greatest potentials. However, during the process, their group came into limelight and the Prodigal was threatened by several underground syndicates (such as the Yakuza). The group lost two members from the attack and several more left for the sake of their own safety.
The events after this caused Grandfather to withdraw from the public but he still remained in the group. However, he appointed Maximille as the group's Arbiter before he disappeared from the world. Though not dead, just finding Atticus was almost impossible - especially with the network of people that he's had long beforehand. Since then, he was already on the way of creating a group that could satisfy Grandfather's needs.
- Second eldest of five siblings. He wasn't very good at socializing with other people because he's mean. Had went to homeschool and dedicated alot of his time mastering different instruments and ice skating.
- Decided to pursue ice skating as his career and decided to go professionally. Won a few competitions and went off competing in the Olympics. Because of his success, he was titled the "Ice Angel."
- Met a traveling businessman and had the utmost desire to be with him. He left his career and home to be with Demos and lived in America with him.
- While being with Demos, he partook in the organization that he built known as the Prodigal. However, after their group was publicly announced, several Syndicate groups targeted them - causing Atticus to disappear from the public and lived under the radar after the case.
- Demos's new title, Grandfather, decided to appoint Durand as the Arbiter.
