She encountered a wendigo at night in the forest that she usually plays in and he tried to possess her. The attempt backfired and now he was a resident in her body because she refuses to let her new friend go.
He became her voice of reason whenever her stunts' death risk became extremely high. He also started adapting after her father and transition from a ravenous monster into a dapper gentlemen.
The two of them gradually became good friends. After she began dating Jiwoon, she agreed to let him go. However, he still visits her very often.

Story
If one were to ask Wendy about her childhood, she would only be able to recall events after getting adopted. She lived in an orphanage with her younger brother for the majority of her early life but was constantly scolded by the workers for sneaking out.
Due to her absences, her brother was adopted first. No longer having anybody close in her life, she seeks comfort swinging and playing in the forest.
One day, she found herself on the other side of the woodlands. Nervous about the new area, she scopes around the place before her eyes land on a tall man who was completely unaware of her presence. Excited about seeing another person along with a strange sense of security, she jumps on him from behind.
At first, the man was shocked and confused to find a little girl seemingly coming out of nowhere. But he learned that she came from the orphanage on the other side of the forest and walked her back. They would talk throughout the whole trip.
For the next couple of months, the routine continued. She would find him standing in the same location every time, as if he was waiting for her. And not once did Wendy fail to show up. Until finally, on a random day in the middle of June, he came to her instead with adoption papers ready in hand.

The two of them had a very abrupt and unexpected first encounter. In fact, they quite literally slammed into each other as Wendy was swinging on a vine in the forest. Despite this, the two of them hit it off fast and Wendy is always inviting the other girl to hang out. Due to how dense Wendy is, it took them a long time before officially becoming a couple.

After getting adopted, the two of them have a wholesome and loving relationship. Emmett loves her very much and is somewhat powerless to her at times. Though he is concerned about her hobbies, he doesn't want to stop her from doing what she likes. Instead, he is currently still working on something in his laboratory to hopefully work around it. Wendy thinks her dad is the coolest person ever and brings him lots of gifts.

Mikado used to take care of her while her dad was at work. She was one of the few person that didn't judge her tastes in hobbies. She was also the only person that was about to keep Wendy still for more than ten minutes by reading her stories. They have a pleasant relationship after she grew older.

Seperated at a young age, Wendy barely remembers Ryder while the other remembers her very well. He actively avoids her on the streets and is somewhat jealous of her ability to shine so brightly in life. He is constantly compared to her by others and is less appreciated. Still, he does care about her and hopes that they would one day become a family once more.
