Its dear friend and fellow star elemental, Feariekin, was sealed by the great summoners that once lived in this country. Even with its great power, Orkaton is unable to break the seal. So Orkaton waits on the castle grounds, hiding in the shadows. Hoping that someday the circumstances will change, and their friend can be freed. 

They bear no hatred towards the people of the land. As only a few took part in capturing its friend. And those people have long been lost to time. Even Orkaton and Feariekin's names are but mere legends to most of the elven and joybird people. Orkaton chose not to interact, waiting patiently.

They often wait within the castle gardens when the many trees cast plentiful shadows for it to hide in. It has silently watched much history unfold within the grounds. Despite this the only time it chose to appear was to a crying boy. It appeared as a small shadow to a child it had often seen mistreated.

Orca felt bad for the child a gave him words on council. The boy, named Cain, the son of a high official, often started coming to the gardens to speak with the friendly shadow. Since the boy was already in his late teens and lacked the ability to summon, Orca let its guard down around Cain and often appeared when no one else was around to chat with the boy. This continued for years, and Orca came to care for Cain as a friend and worried for him. Much of Cain's grief came from his lack of the Asiina fairy that pacted with the elves enabling their summoning. Every elf would get their own Asiina usually by their early teens. Cain was 20 now, and his father viewed Cain as an eyesore.

Cain started visiting Orca more often, but due to the presence of the high Summoner Avril in the court who seemed to sense Orca, Orca was often unable to show itself to Cain. Which pained Orca seeing their friend hurt so.

Then one day Cain snuck out and came to seek Orca at night, he always came during the day before. Cain's parents wanted to put him under housearrest because they viewed him as defective for lacking an asiina, as it was unheard of for someone to be his age and without a pact. They're excuse was to seek out "treatment" for him. 

Cain intended to run away and wanted to say goodbye to Orca. Orca wished to appear to Cain, but Avril was also present in the gardens at this late hour. As Orca witnessed the tear-stained face of its friend, it wasn't expecting an Asiina to appear. Nor did Cain, who found himself suddenly pacted with the fairy. Cain was still determined to leave, even though he now had a pact that his parents wanted. Although he wasn't too sure how to leave, especially since the lights caused by the pacting was likely to draw gaurds soon.

Another witnessed the pact form and came as an unlikely aid. The High Summoner Avril ended up choosing to aid Cain in his escape. Although just before they left Orca decided to hide within Cain's shadow, planning to secretly protect their young friend. Centuries had passed since Feariekin was sealed with no changes, perhaps traveling with Cain would give Orca new insight on how to help Feariekin.
