Schlegeli (Hermann Lamont)

Hermann is a Shlegeli who used to be a judge in Macquarie for their large cooking festival but quit suddenly when a wild encounter happened during one of these festivals. He now lives in Frostreach where his life is a lot simpler and he likes it that way.

As one of the prestigious judges for the Macquarie cooking competitions Hermann made a handsome living and was often given preferential treatment by others as they attempted to butter him up and get on his good side. Although he didn't ever ask for favors out of the blue or expect to be treated differently, he also was fine with letting others give him things if they wanted to.

At the conclusion of one of the intense cooking competitions, Hermann was delegated to announce the winners of the competition. He had done this many times before and so had no issues about taking on the role this year. However as he made the announcement, one of the losers got enraged and attacked Hermann. The two fell to the ground and the looser pulled at the feather crown on Hermann's head yanking a lot of golden feathers out of his right side and bludgeoning him all over.

Eventually, the attacker was yanked off, but not before Hermann had received heavy damage. As he recovered from his injuries he reflected back on his life and decided that he was done with his life here and wanted to try something a bit calmer, more low key where others didn't want him dead. Although his bruises eventually healed, the feathers in his crest never grew back causing his Shlegeli crown to be lopsided as it is much longer on his left side than his right.

So he decided to move to the most middle-of-nowhere village he could find, Frostreach. Macquarie had given him a stipend to keep him quiet about the ordeal that happened during the competition, and he gladly accepted it. He had plans to eventually go back to Macquarie and maybe pick up his old job, but as he got to know the other Animalian in the village, he found himself growing fond of the place, even if it was a bit small and run down.

There was one Aves in particular in the town that he felt a particular fondness for, the Foristeri Nick Mendoza. The small lad still had his child coat of feathers but was doing his best to run his family restaurant, the frozen fish, all by himself. He could tell that the kid and his mother were struggling to get by with so few visitors to the town and wanted to help. 

So he came up with a plan to both help their family financially as well as experience some of the excitement and energy he had grown accustomed to in Macquarie (without all the danger and anger). Twice a year on the coldest days of the year he would host a large party at the Frozen fish with all the town residents. He wouldn't do much time-wise to plan the event, but he would pitch in a majority of the funds. After the events of the day the whole town would go back to the frozen fish for a nice meal made by Nick Mendoza. Hermann would help pick out the dishes the night before for Nick to make and would often be the first to get totally wasted as soon as the dishes came out.

Although he started to fund these events to help the Mendozas, he now would do it even if they weren't in the picture as he really enjoys spending time with the rest of the town and fully relaxing with good food. When things get hard or he can't get what he wants, he sometimes longs to go back to his old life, but after a good night's sleep, he members what it was like and is convinced that Frostreach is where he belongs.

1) if a PC (player character) wishes to play as Hermann, his call to adventure could consist of him wanting to be a judge again and wandering around the world looking for opportunities to compare others' work. This doesn't always lead to the best outcomes as some Animalian aren't to happy about being judged.

2) alternatively, he hears about Nick's long-lost brother and is moved, causing him to go out and try to find this brother despite not having any clue where he is at.

If no call to adventure is heeded, he will likely spend most of his life in Frostreach helping others out and throwing the largest 'snow days' he can afford. One day the Animalian who ripped out his feathers will return and try to finish the job, but he will be saved by the towns folk before to much damage is done.

main outfit| his main outfit consists of rugged light brown pants with fabric wrapped around the lower segment. They have patches on them and are a bit worn out due to him spending most his money every year on the Frostreach snow days. He also has a dark green button-up vest with a white collared shirt underneath it. His suit coat is a dark blush green with a split in the back, cuff around the top, pockets on either side, and no sleeves. His hat is a similar color and made mostly out of fabric. He also often wears a black bowtie. 

He is a Schlegeli that has dark red modern eyes and is quite plump and round. He also has half the feathers on HIS right side of his feather crown. Basic species reference sheet can be found here. Please look at this for common details people miss when drawing this species.
