About

George came from a very noteworthy childhood with very shocking and incredibly infamous family members, and all he wants to do now is fade into obscurity. This is not helped by his identical twin being... famous to the police of their home country. He is horrified by his own magic and is too anxious to even casually use it, something that can be actively dangerous for partam. His familiar, Kyodai, is more of a service animal than she is a conduit for power, allowing for him to internalize his magic without turning his insides out. He has clinical depression and a panic disorder, both giving him a struggle to get out of bed some days. He loves his family immensely, but hates to be around them sometimes.

... He's trying his best.

Trivia

Likes

Oatmeal His favorite safe food.

Reptiles He relates to them a lot, specifically lizards. Sometimes he likes to just watch his gecko wander around, he feels like it calms him down.

Sunrise He makes sure he always has a good view of it from his window. It's like a reminder for him to go to bed if he stays up all night, but beautiful and soft. Makes him feel less bad for not getting sleep.

Like 4 List something they like then give a small description about it/why they like it.

Dislikes

Knives Casper's weapon of choice. Even without that context, George has had far too many terrible experiences with knifes for him to feel comfortable even holding one.

Washing Dishes Eueueugh bad feeling to the touch.

Winter Similar to lizards, George does not produce a lot of body heat. "Just add more layers" doesn't work if you don't make warmth for the layers to keep in. And the cold is PAINFUL.

Dislikes 4 List something they don't like then give a small description about it.

Strengths

Bone Manipulation From close distances, George can move, bend, break, and twist anything containing large amounts of calcium with his mind. He can only really move a few things at a time, anything he could fit his hand around and move himself, but that's more a matter of self-restraint. When he loses control, he's a danger to himself and others.

Summary

Subheader

George was always the most shy of his brothers, often being considered the easiest child to raise of the three of them before their powers set in. Unlike his father and younger brother, neither George nor his twin, Casper, were born with overtly demonic traits, and any magical abilties they had refused to set in after the expected development date. Originally, his parents assumed the twins were completely nonmagical, both a relief and a concern for the incredibly magic family. This security did not last. Soon after the twins developed their powers- both had incredibly powerful collagen manipulation, especially for bones- the family decided to invest in familiars.

The working understanding for the neighborhood was that Casper, who also had the added magical benefit of teleportation and an incredibly high magical charge, was too much for the family to handle. But George knew that he was the one who accidentally broke his own bone from one of his increasingly common anxiety attacks... and turned roadkill inside out. He isn't sure which one was the last straw, he just knows it was him. Kyodai seems more interested in training George than she does helping him contain his magic, but George is insistent upon how he wants to use his powers-- not at all.

Thompson Mortis

father

Half-demon and incredibly protective of his children, there is the unintended consequence of Thompson being the source of everything George hates about himself. They both know it, and it's an elephant in the room every time they have to discuss George's mental health. George doesn't want to hate him, though, and though they rarely talk, they find other ways to show they still care about each other. It's just incredibly quiet and includes no magic.

Ananke Mortis

mother

She was the parent George felt was the most pushy about the children's... quirks. Even though he understands why, her incessent but friendly prodding gets on his nerves sometimes. He can't even justify being angry about his boundaries being overstepped because of what Casper does when he's left alone. She taught him how to cook for himself in easy ways so he could eat when he was low-energy, and he thinks about her every time he makes himself food.

Casper Mortis

identical twin brother

What practically stands as the bane of his existence, Casper is incredibly friendly, incredibly hyperactive, and incredibly dangerous. Though George has been noted on tests to be much more powerful than his brother, Casper actively threatens the lives of others with them, and what's worse- George will often face reprocussions for it. Even after learning that his brother's impulsive and murderous actions when they were younger were not of his own free will, George can't forgive him. They don't talk about it.

Peter Mortis

younger brother

It can be hard sometimes, George watches his brother live a life he knows he'll never have the energy to achieve. What's more, Peter is able to entirely distance himself from the demonic ties of their family line-- from what George can tell, he doesn't even have magic! While Peter is the family member he feels the most comfortable visiting regularly, he hates that he feels jealous of his brother being happy. Peter, being a doctor, will sometimes offer homemade accomodations to make George's life a bit easier. He appreciates it, but it sometimes makes him feel worse. He misses him dearly.

Dolan Alara

Cousin and Former Roommate

The pair have a shared trauma from Casper in their childhood, and have gravitated toward each other because of it. Dolan would frequently visit his cousin to check in on his health and was often the only reason he left the house on weeks when he was at his worst. George was framed for his murder and temporarily went to prison because of it, but being released doesn't bring his cousin back. He will never forgive his brother.

Gregory Mortis

nephew

After Peter dies, George is considered the best possible caretaker for him. This already would be confusing to him, but considering he was still in jail for a crime he didn't commit, this was extra confounding. When he was released, almost a year later, incredible amounts of effort went into ensuring the kid had as good of a life as possible, even if that meant having to set aside his own discomforts. He considers raising his nephew to be a thank you to the brother who actively tried to help him.
