Shannon Takeshi was just a normal student, a big class clown who loved nothing more than making his friends laugh and smile. Except he had a huge secret to keep--he was half-kitsune! Not that he knew what to do with those abilities--he barely had any training with them. His parents were always traveling for work, but he had his grandma to mentor him… when she had the energy and mind to. So he just taught himself, working as an assistant at the jujutsu dojo after school and practicing his wind and shifting abilities into the night. He was doing pretty good, one could argue, for being on his own! But he got caught, kidnapped, and vanished--never to be seen again.

Aye, Shannon's here for a good time, not a long time, yknow what I mean? What's living without some thrills! Sure, when villains start attacking, he runs and hides--but if someone needs help, and the heroes aren't there? He knows jujutsu and will definitely defend anyone who needs it!

Invisibility

Can turn himself completely invisible to the human eye, as well as cameras. Can still be detected by infrared sensors. Can't keep his focus up for long.

Wind Control

Can control the wind, but not to great extents. Could whip up a strong wind, but not a tornado. He can use this to float about a foot or two off the ground for short periods.

Half-Shift Form

Can half-shift between his human form and his kitsune form, growing fur, a tail, and claws. He'll have better vision in the dark.

Full Shift Form

Can shift into a full fox form, wherein which he is a black fox with purple eyes. Good for quick getaways.

Perks of Being a Kitsune

Enhanced strength, speed, hearing, and smell.

He and his family moved to Kihiro City in his second grade year--fortunately, just soon enough to fit in with the other kids at his school. Didn't take too long to become fast friends with CJ, quickly hitting it off as the class troublemakers and getting wrapped up in all kinds of shenanegains.

His parents had promised that after the move, they'd be able to be around more. That was a lie, as they still had to travel all the time for work, even though they'd moved closer to the Duskton headquarters. But that didn't matter--instead of having to bounce from family friends' house to house, he got to be with his obaachan all the time!

Late Elementary School/Middle School

Man, a lot happened. It felt like one day he went to bed and everything was normal, and when he woke up the next day everything was CRAZY! One day, everything was fine--everyone was at least kinda nice to each other, and the next people were starting to push and kick each other in the halls, call each other shitty names, and more! Originally, Shannon just rolled up his metaphorical sleeves and got to work the only way he knew how--cracking jokes with CJ in class to get everyone laughing. Which worked! For awhile. Until it didn't--he was deemed as annoying, that nobody liked him the whole time, they just liked CJ. All of a sudden, CJ was being bombared by what was quickly being deemed the 'popular kids,' and they barely had time to hang out during or after school--but they still managed to stay close.

God, the implosion of his friend group, though? When Will confessed to his crush on Alana, and everything went to shit? He kinda couldn't handle it, the constant nagging from Will of 'you're either with me or against me' so he'll be real--he stepped away for awhile. About... a year. It was a bad call--he shoulda been there for Alana, but god, he was overwhelmed.

Or maybe it wasn't just Will's needling that made him leave everyone alone for a bit. When most kids hit puberty, they start growing a little peach fuzz, or get voice squeaks, and hormonal. Not only did he get all that--he got super powers! Was no one planning on telling him he was half-kitsune, or was he just supposed to figure that out on his own?! His obaachan was nice enough to start training him the best she could--she was starting to get ill a bit, but she did her best. He started dividing his time between homework, caring for his grandma, working at a jujutsu dojo to help cover perscription costs, and training himself to fill the gaps in his learning. His parents did come back home--of and on, and only for obachaan. He may as well have not existed, they never acknowledged his presence outside of sending him for grocery runs when they were back--news about his first shift, his first time going invisible, his first time controlling the wind all went ignored. A thumbs up emoji at best. At that point, Shannon figured there was no point in even trying anymore--but it still hurt, so maybe he isolated himself to lick his wounds.

Either way, by the end of middle school, things were just about back to normal. Or as normal as they could get. The usual friend group was intact again--minus Will, but now CJ was hanging out with his other friends more often too! And he knew about his powers just enough to keep them secret and under control. He wanted to tell people, but not right now--not right when the dust was settling.

High School

Aaaand of course right when you think the dust is settled, everything gets worse.

Will being a piece of shit was so normal at this point that it was disappointing he'd ever considered that guy a friend in the first place. Hearing slurs left and right in the halls was so normal he was wondering where all those nice kids from elementary went. But when super heroes and super villains started showing up? No one knew how to handle it! Just like that, everyone started talking, gossiping, trying to guess who could be a superhero or a supervillain or could be hiding weird powers. Shannon just acted normal, kept his head low--but hey, being able to defend himself and know how to fight was becoming pretty handy, and more and more people started signing up for lessons at the dojo. His grandma was even starting to feel a bit better--still staying in the house, for the most part, but up and out of bed!

He's not sure when he made a mistake. If this guy had been casing him for days, months, or years. But one day he came home from cleaning up the dojo, and a man he'd seen once or twice before was in his room. He was overpowered too quickly, and before long he was waking up in a strange place with no way out...

He hopes he at least meant something to someone outside of being a joke.
