Ujael Py.

General:

• Friendly and quiet/softspoken. 
• A bit meek/a pushover. Social anxiety so tends to avoid interactions/crowds in general. Only thing its not a pushover about is warning ppl when keyaa anomaly is coming and telling them they’re stupid if they don’t take cover lol.
• Has issues of feeling like a burden/taking up space. So tends to not vocalize worries / wants / needs. Kind of like a “well there’s definitely someone who has it worse than me” + “there’s better problems to focus on” mindset.
• Has gone on whatever the Pippaf equivalent is for HRT/estrogen. Has a deeper voice still, but she is happy with it (70/30 gets perceived as a girl vs guy tbh).
• Hates having attention focused on it. More than happy to be a follower/supporter, doesn't like to lead+be responsible for big tasks
• particularly strong ability to sense keyaa, especially keyaa anomaly, such as sudden windstorms. Even young (~8), they could have an accurate estimate down to a few minutes of when a windstorm would happen. It honed the skill as it got older, to where it could smell windstorm/other anomaly hours before they would occur. This is its most prized skill and its reason for employment at Pyridekk.

• loves cardgames/board games. Gets horribly competitive about it, a great way to let her let loose. Obsessed with the strategy of them all.
• likes singing and has a good voice, but is shy about it. Really only sings when alone, and around a few select creatures.
• Its "shine", an object of devotion that all scentshine have, is Brutus. This is something it is very conflicted over for a long time, especially because of its unrequited crush on Brutus. Ujael keeps Brutus being its shine a secret from Brutus for many years. For a time, it believes that Brutus will eventually like it back, because that's the purpose of the shine isn't it? Ujael over the years, grew desperate and fragile as this continued to not be the case, as Brutus was either indifferent or unwanting towards its affections (at least.. in that way. They did become friends eventually, after Brutus stopped being prickly). Eventually, Ujael gives up and beleives their shine is broken, or something is broken with them. Later, they realize Brutus is their shine for a reason, a good, happy, fufilling reason- just not the reason they thought it was.

• Commonborn, native of Derrodas. Family were some kind of farmers, poor. Was the second youngest among her 3 siblings, dad died when younger and mom generally overworked and stressed. All died in the Tol Disaster.
• Ujael was in the first wave of creatures to join Pyridekk, before the institution had been truly, officially, establish. Renfinus was still building and organizing everything and sought out guides for keyaa anomaly, hiring Ujael based on rumors of her talent of guiding those thru the rampaging winds of Derrodas. (joined when ~16.)
• Tol disaster and aftermath detailed under spoiler
• • Tol disaster: Belongs to a village-clan Tol, which were the victims of a keyaa-upwelling disaster referred to “Tol’s windstorm”, “the Tol disaster”, “the burnstorm”.  Was a exceedingly intense and unwarned dry windstorm that additionally caused fires. The event lasted for days off and on and destroyed much of the village/surrounding land, taking many lives. Ujael, 10 at the time, was the only survivor of her family.
  • Tol disaster continued: although the Tol clan wasn’t cold or distant they weren’t particularly close knit either (and were large ~400), and amidst all of the suffering and injured, Ujael, physically unscathed from the event and with no one to come to her defense, was forgotten about.
  • Tol disaster continued: Ujael had been able to survive unscathed through luck but also with her particularly strong ability to sense keyaa, especially keyaa anomaly, such as sudden windstorms. Even so young, they could have an accurate estimate down to a few minutes of when the windstorm would happen. It honed the skill as it got older, to where it could smell windstorm/other anomaly hours before they would occur.
  • Post Tol disaster: Ujael did what she needed to do to survive, she was one of the many orphans roaming around the Tol general area so she didn’t get much pity for that. Took odd jobs mostly. Stayed in an orphanage for a time but left because of the meager resources + infighting among the children because of the lack of resources. Ujael didn’t like to fight and was a small, fragile creature, if it remained there, it would just get beat up and get its things stolen.
  • Post Tol disaster cont: At some point, Ujael’s best earning job became as a lookout and a guide, being one of the best for sensing keyaa happenings for charging the least (a place to sleep for the night, food, clothes/blankets. Some creatures definitely took advantage of her kindness, but she never wanted to leave anyone at the mercy of the winds or other anomaly). This is how Renfinus eventually discovered their skills and wanted to hire them.
