Renfi L. Pyridekk

|| Renfinus Lazuli Pyridekk ||

Curious, Captivating, Jolly, Airheaded, Conceited, Careless

Renfinus is the head and the founder of the Pyridekk royal house. The other houses tread warily around Renfi and the Pyridekk, both mystified and fearful with their quick rise to power. Especially because the Pyridekk don’t function like any of the other royal houses. None of their members are related to each other by blood in the slightest, and the only way you can get into the house is if you have a strong magical affinity or skill. The ranks and hierarchy in the house constantly shift as some members are deemed more worthwhile and powerful than others, and the Pyridekk show little regard for royal house traditions, loyalty, or "proper" ways of going about things. The Pyridekk are less like a royal house, and more like an organization of magically apt individuals conglomerated together in order to amass magical knowledge/resources and to improve their skills. And since no organization of magicians has ever been as large or influential as the Pyridekk in all of Pippaf history, there’s good reason to be cautious.

Renfinus himself is seen as a bit of an enigma. The only other fade known in a public context is Garvey Amaranth, and the two of them couldn't be more different in both appearance and demeanor. Although Renfinus often acts overly ditzy and friendly, he has an undeniable energy to him – a looming, electric power in the way he moves and speaks. So much so that creatures automatically part to make way for him, bow their head at the sight of him, silence themselves to listen to his melodic voice and words. He has an ethereal presence. Almost godlike.

One could even argue that he is practically a god. After over 700 years of studying and practicing magic, Renfinus knows more on the subject than perhaps any creature alive. Fades are already hard to kill, and Renfinus has gone through great measures to make himself virtually immortal and untouchable in terms of magical knowledge and prowess. His neverending, almost childish curiosity for magic has been his single-minded drive throughout his life, drawing him to found the Pyridekk and conduct endless experiments and research – often uncaring of the moral questionability of his actions or the negative, and even cruel, impact they may have on others. To obtain knowledge, to learn, Renfinus sees all things justifiable.

|| Trivia and Other Musings ||

• Renfinus always smells like cherry blossoms and lavender. He is very vain and takes great care with his appearance, spending hours each morning getting ready by himself, or with the assistance servants, in order to look his absolute best.
• Is a wine snob
• has a habit of buying things and then forgetting that he bought them. Also buys stuff on a whim and then carelessly gives it to others once he becomes bored with it.
• if anyone touches his hair, they die.
• The best way to get his attention or praise is through magical skill/knowledge, and also lots of gifts. Particularly jewelry and shiny, rare trinkets. BIG Bonus points if magically enchanted.
• Sees creatures without any magical affinity/weak magical affinity as lesser beings. Kind of treats them like children in need of being coddled.
• Also has a habit of getting pets and then growing bored with them and forgetting/refusing to take care of them (and tends to treat them more like objects than alive beings anyways). Many of these pets have become the responsibility of Brutus.
• Drama King. Can and will cancel an event because his hair is too frizzy or he bumped his elbow or something.
