Your name is DAOVIA COLUMA and you’re a bit of a mysterious one, aren’t you? No-one really knows anything about your past and to be honest, you have forgotten a lot of it too. After all, you live in the PRESENT, not the past. You were GENETICALLY ENGINEERED by Troll Poachers who illegally created grubs with abnormal blood colours to sell to highbloods for cash. Luckily, when you were about four sweeps old, an ADULT TROLL took pity on you and handed you over to a DESPERATE LUSUS. The adult troll WIPED YOUR MEMORIES and as far as you know, your life began the moment your Lusus picked you up with her beak and flew you to her nest.
You have a variety of SWEATERS, and your favourite day of the year is HALLOWEEN because then you have an excuse to wear your FAVOURITES, the cute ones covered in GHOSTS.
You are the STRONG, SILENT TYPE and those who don’t know you may think that you are ALOOF. You are in fact, the complete opposite. You are KIND and UNDERSTANDING. You love making friends and are incredibly SOCIAL. You also love READING, EXERCISE, COOKING, and SHOPPING.
Your interests include PARANORMAL LORE (especially ghosts), LITERATURE and you are also surprisingly quite fond of FIDUSPAWN (Pokémon).
Daovia is the walking definition of the ‘Mum Friend’. She’s much too kind, caring and loving for her own good and will always put the needs of others before the needs of herself. Unfortunately, this tends to mean that she’s easily walked over and it’s not uncommon that her kindness is taken advantage of. She only sees the good in people and is too trusting – always forgiving those who have done her or her friends wrong, no matter how bad the crime as she doesn’t believe in the possibility of anyone being evil.
Due to her likable personality and positive aura, she doesn’t make any enemies, only friends. It’s almost impossible to get on her bad side and she always has a smile on her face. It’s impossible to get her angry as she’s ridiculously patient. She doesn’t have a single bad bone in her body. A pure, perfect being that must be protected. Just kidding – she doesn’t need protecting and is more than capable of holding her own in a fight. Strong enough to bench press her own 6’4” muscular husband she’s not all soft and precious under all those sweaters. She’s also incredibly competitive and her kind nature gets put to the side when she’s ready to win at something as she’s not one to back out of a competition no matter how small or silly it is.
Daovia also has a weird and dry sense of humour and is always giggly and loves socialising and going out of her way to spend time with those she loves – even going as so far as to cook for others and take the food to their homes as a surprise gift.
Daovia is 6’0” in height and has a very muscular build from constant working out and has visibly toned limbs and abdominals. She has a long face with strong cheekbones and a pointed almost ‘beak-like’ nose. Her hair is long and luscious, but a chunk of it has been haphazardly cut off on her right side making it awkwardly uneven. She has two large, pointed ears and sometimes she wears gold hoop earrings with studs, sometimes she doesn’t. She always wears either black or bright blue lipstick and a little bit of blue blush.
She has a variety of sweaters and as a result can be drawn wearing literally any kind of sweater, but her signature one is a black sweater with blue sleeves with a little ghost decal on the front. She also has a cyan blue turtleneck, and a black sweater with her symbol on the front in grey which is her ‘anon’ look for when she goes into town. She only wears black lipstick with that one. She wears a black skirt with all of these sweaters and white tennis shoes.

- She loves holidays and goes ‘all out’ whenever there’s something significant. Easter? Plans large Easter hunts. Christmas? Her house is definitely done over the top with lights. Halloween? She might as well paint her house and yard orange, she loves Halloween that much. She gives everyone gifts on these holidays, and doesn’t care if she gets nothing in return.
- Her lusus – a large secretary bird with a cockatiel face and lyrebird tail – is so big that it sleeps on a huge nest on the roof of her house. It also brings her fish from the nearby ocean which she regularly cooks up in all different ways for everyone to share.
- Daovia is much stronger than her husband, Hirsch, and her competitive side really shows whenever they’re working out together. Everything is a competition – ‘who can do the most pull-ups’, ‘who’s the fastest jogger’, and ‘who’s the best at arm wrestling’ are common things that they do together and she wins almost every single time.
- She’s so obsessed with Pokémon that her house is literally FULL of merch. Her bath towels have Pokéballs on them, her bedsheets are Pokémon themed, she has plushies, posters, canvas prints, Pokémon mugs, Pokémon action figures, almost all seasons and movies on DVD – you name it, she’s got it, and she’s proud to show it all off.

Daovia was hatched into a strange facility who were illegally genetically creating grubs scientifically in order to breed bright, unnatural colours into them. These grubs were then sold into slavery to wealthy highbloods who wanted a pet they could boast about and those that weren’t sold were often killed and turned into brightly coloured cosmetics or other things such as highly-pigmented paints.
Daovia spend a large portion of her baby-years in this facility and was often experimented on as the adult trolls who worked there were trialling a new kind of machine that they hoped would turn blood brighter after the child had already hatched. She was the lab-rat for these experiments and while the trials didn’t work, they did give her incredibly strong psionics that were very volatile and were prone to unleashing whenever she was upset or stressed unwillingly and burning everything around her. They decided then that they could use this machine to create living weapons like her to sell to the military to make even more money. Thankfully Daovia accidentally destroyed the machine during one of her outbursts, and they then decided to instead lock her powers away so she couldn’t harm anymore.
Figuring that they couldn’t sell her, they decided to keep using her as a test dummy for their newest contraptions and machinery once they managed to conceal her psionic abilities. She was tortured by this, but never showed any physical scarring from these events.
Luckily, one day a rouge adult troll and his followers broke into the facility and saved many of the grubs that were going to get sold into slavery, and he stumbled across Daovia. Finding it strange that there was a toddler amongst all these babies, he took her with him.
She stayed with him at his camp for a while as they were giving the grubs away to Lusii that had recently lost their own young and wanted something to raise. He asked her a lot of questions about her time at the facility, and when it was clear that she was very stressed and panicked upon being forced to recall the events that occurred to her – he wiped her memories, knowing that no child should bear the burden of being an abused experiment for the rest of their lives.
He had bonded with her in a sort of fatherly way, but after wiping her memories he thought it would be best to pass her off to a lusus like the rest of the children. Luckily, there was one nearby that had come with the promise of being given a child and was surprisingly more than okay with receiving a toddler as opposed to a grub. She took Daovia in her beak and almost smiled to the man as he waved goodbye with tears in his eyes.
Daovia then lead a normal childhood with no recollection of her past. She knew that her lusus wasn’t assigned to her at birth due to differing blood colours, but she never questioned it. She would never meet the man that saved her life again, but since she doesn’t recall him that well – it doesn’t bother her. She is now happy, healthy, and married with more or less an adopted child of her own to care for.
Hirsch wasn’t the most romantic ‘relationship’ kind of guy – in fact, he was the complete opposite. When he met Daovia at the market, he was straight to the point and incredibly flirtatious. Daovia found him funny and played hard to get, making it clear that if he wanted he, he’d have to work for it. Hirsch ended up developing deep feelings for her and his whole personality changed. He became so smitten with her that he would do anything for her and is so in love that he – wait, Daovia proposed to him. They’re now happily married.
Kelion was put into Daovia’s care after Djenah saved his life. Daovia loves Kelion but always finds him confusing because he’s always in his own little world and does weird things. Not that she minds, of course. It took her a long while to realise he had multiple personalities, but she was the first to connect the dots and figure out that Kelion’s odd behaviour sometimes was due to Rahart and Seulki being out and about doing their thing. She loves all of them, even though Rahart tries to be independent and Seulki gets snappy if she’s not left alone.
Daovia is very much like a mother figure to Rahart and he feels very safe and comfortable around her. He doesn’t really like how she’s so overtly nice to him and sometimes believes she’s only keeping him around because he pities him, but that is not the case. They genuinely care for each other and are always there to help one another through their problems. She’s been by his side since he escaped, and he hopes that she’ll stay his friend forever because in the end, she’s the only one he truly loves.
While Daovia has Kelion to watch over, Hirsch has Zahhri. It is almost as though the married couple have two kids, though Daovia finds it incredibly hard to get close to Zahhri. She tries her best to be kind and open towards him, but he’s got a lot of walls up and tends to be volatile. The only way the two seem to communicate is with Daovia saying a joke or trying to talk with him, and Zahhri insulting her. She doesn’t mind, and is patient with him and never stops smiling regardless of the stink that comes out of his mouth.
Daovia and Djenah have been best friends ever since Daovia was flown into the area via her lusus’ beak. Daovia grew up under Djenah’s guidance and the other woman was more or less her guardian angel for many, many sweeps. She still seeks Djenah’s council often and visits her whenever she can. She loves Djenah and almost sees her as not only her best friend, but also a parent.
Despite Nemura’s negative, antisocial attitude – Daovia’s always friendly towards him and is always trying to crack jokes and chat to him. Unfortunately, she can’t see that Nemura REALLY does not like her and would be perfectly happy if she just suddenly died one day. She can’t see the bad in people and considers him a friend and just thinks of him as grumpy and it hasn’t occurred to her in the slightest that her friendship with the boy isn’t wanted.
