03 — Background
Early Life
Samuel Jensen decided to pursue a career in biology after a career in computer science fell through. He spent his twenties bouncing back and forth between different companies, trying to find something that fit for him.
Eventually, he discovered Boarco Labratories. Boarco's acceptance of animal testing intrigued him, and he found that their style was exactly what he needed. He appreciated that Boarco opperated off of real, physical results rather than the theories that many of the other companies he interracted with focused on. He applied, and was quickly brought on as a freelance contracter, as most of Boarco's employees opperate.
Currently...
After about six years of being a Boarco employee, Sam joined Anya Newman on a contract to try and create bioluminescent animals that could be used as pets. The two also brought on Tim Skinner, an intern for the project. They went through two rounds of testing before their third round - two kittens named Rio and Eight - began to show possible results.
04 — Fun Facts
-
Sam has shown up to the labratory before wearing crocs and socks. Anya has sent him home to get more lab-safe footwear. This has happened multiple times.
-
He keeps a stash of snacks in one of the drawers of his desk because he thinks that Boarco's vending machine is too expensive.
-
Sam has a decent amount of coding knowledge, but dislikes coding as a whole. He tends to lose patience and focus when looking at walls of text, hence why he decided to focus on a science where he could see physical results.
05 — Relationships
Fellow Scientist
Sam and Anya have worked together for the better part of their time at Boarco. They worked together as researchers on a previous project, so when Anya became the head of a new endevor Sam was quick to volunteer for it. They have a friendship that goes beyond work, despite the difference in their organizational styles.
Intern
Tim is the intern on Anya and Sam's current project. Both scientists enjoy being around the kid. Sam and Tim have a more relaxed relationship, as Sam will often tease him or invite him in on bigger portions of the project.
Test Subject
Eight is one of the two test subjects in the third round of Anya and Sam's bioluminescence research. He is regarded by both scientists as the more problematic of the two, mostly for his tendancies to escape his cage. Sam has spent a decent amount of time adding additional locks to try and keep Eight in.
Test Subject
Rio is one of the two test subjects in the third round of Anya and Sam's bioluminescence research. He is regarded by both scientists as the calmer of the two, mostly due to Eight's high energy. Both Anya and Sam appreciate Rio's mellowness in comparison to his brother.
