Analysis Abilities

Touya has the ability to analyze Shadows with his Persona Kvasir. He also can sometimes determine a physical weakness of a Shadow, their “Achilles’s heel”.

Combat Abilities

As his abilities grow, Touya gains the ability to boost his teammates’ stats. He will also gain the ability to heal them and eventually protect them from deadly blows.

Touya Amagi is the older son of Naoki and Yukiko Amagi, younger brother to Sakiya Amagi and older brother to Noburu Konishi. He is a member of SPIES and he is their scanner. His Persona is Kvasir.

When the story begins, Touya has just transferred to Gekkoukan High as part of their exchange program with Yasogami High.

History

Touya was born to Naoki and Yukiko Amagi on February 17th, 2026. He was their second child and their first son. However, his birth was a scare for his parents. His mother went into labor a month earlier than his due date. Due to this, Touya was a bit sickly as an infant. Thanks to excellent medical care and his parents' careful monitoring, Touya slowly outgrew his sickliness. However, there was another problem.

Touya's development was slow. He did not speak until he was nearly a year and a half, making his parents worry further. When he was taken to a specialist, they were told that he would speak when he wanted to and that they had to be patient. While Touya eventually started talking, his parents soon noticed that he spoke with a noticeable stutter.

His parents found a speech therapist, but it took much longer than expected for Touya to overcome his stutter, lasting until he was ten years old. Because of this, Touya ended up being bullied in school. His parents even considered pulling him out and having Naoki homeschool it. It was only after much begging that they relented. The bullying had a lasting effect on Touya, however. He chose to keep to himself, keeping his thoughts and opinnions to himself, only feeling truly comfortable around his family and childhood friends.

Personality

Touya is rather soft-spoken and timid, often hesitant to speak up. When Touya was a child, he had a stutter. While stutters aren’t exactly rare in childhood, it took Touya a few years more to lose his stutter than most situations. This had led him to become a target of teasing, which was quite a blow to his self-esteem. Due to this, Touya can be quite a pushover.

Touya is rather kind, being polite and soft-hearted. Because of how he was bullied, he treasures the people he was close to. He especially has a soft spot for animals. He is also quite organized and patient—something that his parents joke that is needed with his childhood friends. Touya is also deeply compassionate and empathetic. Even when he is scared, he will screw up the courage to try and help.

Touya is very doubtful of his own abilities. He dismisses his good grades as nothing—just that he knows what works for him. He is also ashamed of his lack of eloquence, especially comparing it to his mother and older sister. Touya can be also a little too reliant on his friends, but when it comes down to it, his love for his friends is his greatest strength and motivation.

• Touya's name means winter, to be. It’s a nod to his mother Yukiko’s name meaning snow child
• Touya is greatly superstitious. He likes making omamori, or good luck charms, for his friends and family.
• Touya has loved stories of folklore and mythology, ever since he was a small child. He is also an avid reader.
• Touya is known for having an iron stomach. The fact that he actually enjoys his mother’s curry rather terrifies the men of the Investigation Team.
• Touya dislikes shrimp; he’s not a fan of the texture.
• Touya’s favorite genre is horror. He likes psychological horror over slashers, however.
• Touya is prone to fidgeting. He also pulls at his hair a lot when he’s deep in thought.
• Touya is very formal. It’s like pulling teeth to get him to drop last name formalities. The fact that he calls Reika "Rei" is a sign of their closeness.
• Touya is a big fan of Spring of Birth, the book that Minako wrote to share SEES's story with the world in a subtle way.
• Despite his paternal family running a liquor store, Touya actually detests the smell of alcohol.
