Hiya!! Im writing this to help clarify things up since accusations are just being thrown out rather than civilly being talked about especially on what is supposed to be a fun gatcha for everyone. If you have any concerns or problems you are more than welcome to contact me or gecko to privately discuss the matter and see what we can sort out so that no one is uncomfortable of any similarities even if they were coincidental. What however is immature to do is to jump on the bandwagon of accusations throwing words like theft and stealing with no substance. Using words like this can be nothing more than hurtful if false/inaccurate and is a weak attempt at defaming and pressuming the worst in designers when we are also human.
I am personally a close friend of geckos and I know how much this has stressed him out and I'm stepping in to say my thoughts in hopes of this being avoided in the future. He has always been a really creative and talented artist and to simply disregard all of that hard work because of something as foolish as using a colour palette. Surprise, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE owns a palette nor colours and they never will and some themes will just overlap sometimes especially with how many designs were made its like bound to happen. I can't help but feel like some of you just want to tear down other's successes out of some spite or jealousy you may have and I hope you look deep within yourself to see why are you feeling this way and why stress others out for your own insecurities.
Yes in the case that simplistic designs such as this gacha it's inevitable that some similarities will occur since surprise no one can ever be 1000% original. No toyhouse user ever invented a colour palette or even using said colours in combination is not something ANYONE can own. Many designs on toyhouse share similar themes because thats simply what a lot of people like!
Sometimes yes coincidences do happen and we are more than happy to address and fix whatever we can to ensure everyone's happiness in the end. What I cannot appreciate however is causing unnecessary stress by band wagoning rather than this being something to solve in private as it always should have been. At the end of the day I can let you know what I personally was on call majority if not pretty much all of the time both me and gecko were working on this batch of designs and not once have either of us ever looked at any designs for inspiration. Hey I don't mean to sound rude or come off as accusatory but I was sent this link by a mutual of mine and #27 looks eerily similar to my sona. I'm not really comfortable with a character that similar being sold for profit when I've spent a lot of time and money on said design. I'm not mad I just would be happiest if the design was taken down and not put up for sale.

I was just looking at both of them and they rlly don’t look that alike… could u explain a bit how u might think it does? :0 it might help this creator too! Bc from an outside perspective they rlly don’t have much in common other than the fish theme!
The skin tone is almost the exact same, they have short black and baby blue hair with the bangs covering one of the eyes. The fishbone on the middle of their sweater, the skeleton fishbone tail, the black long misshapen legs... I really don't think I'm reaching for this one and I've had multiple people send me this listing. I don't want to argue or make this an ordeal I just think the two characters look a bit too similar and it made both me and the designer uncomfortable with it being sold. They look pretty identical asides from the lack of hair fins and a yellow sweater.

I’m usually one that rlly hates ppl copying or taking heavy inspo, so if this person knows the creator and actively follows them or has faced the design that’d def be a giveaway, I understand how they can be similar but I feel like it’s rlly not that identical! Ofc u have the right to be upset but I think it’s up to the poster, if it’s not taken down u could probably report it but idk if they’d rlly find the designs similar enough to even take it down/ask for it to be removed </3
I appreciate your thoughts and concerns. They do follow the original designer so it’s not like it’s entirely out of the realm of possibility. I still believe the designs look a tad too similar and that it would be disingenuous to sell the design. If it weren’t for other users bringing this to my attention I wouldn’t have known but, if others are private messaging me about it and the designer also agrees then I think it is something worth discussing and bringing attention to.
