Kit Life

Riftkit didn't have the best start to her life in Cragclan, born to unloving parents already with their paws full of an older litter they had. Riftkit’s three older brothers often bullied and left her out of things, making her grow a quick disdain for them. Her parents were not any better and often neglected her. Due to all this, the young Riftpaw felt alone and found comfort in those who lurked in darker places and came to her in her dreams; The dark forest cats.

During her training in the dark forest, she took a liking to an outcast dark tom most even in the dark forest wouldn't dare speak too; A dark tom called Matteredmoth. He also happened to take an interest in her and where she came from, mostly due to his own wants...but he saw great potential in Riftpaw! Mattedmoth taught her everything she needed to become strong, brutal, calculated and smart and take out those around her.

The hatred of her family and kinship she felt to Mattedmoth made her a loyal and influential follower of those in the dark forest- something that her clan were very against. As Riftpaw grew older she constantly got into fights with her brothers and would eventually be strong enough to beat them everytime, enjoying now having the upperhand and strength over her family and clanmates.

Warrior

Riftpaw became Riftbolt, in honnor of her skills. Due to her training in the dark forest she made friends with some other cats like Boneslash and Scatterednest who were training there too. Unfortunately others in the clan started fearing her and it eventually got to the leader about her dark forest association.

The Cragclan leader Pinestar quickly banished her and the others without a second thought. Riftbolt had a mate early on in her warrior life- Spikeshade, who despite not following the Darkforest, decided to leave with her. Riftbolt took her banishment with pride, eventually finding a small camp for her and the other cats that either left with her or were banished too.

To Riftbolts surprise, she was approached by Matteredmoth who gave her a proposition she couldn't refuse. He’d give her the 9 lives of a leader to create Riftclan...if she raised a clan to destroy Cragclan and finish what Mattedmoth couldnt when he was alive. This was a win-win in her mind, there was no bad catch. Cragclan just kicked them out and the warriors were still stewing over it. It isn't hard to see why Riftstar accepted this, made her mate Riftclans deputy and started recruiting cats for their cause.

Leader

Riftstar led Riftclan into battle after battle, becoming a clan to fear for anyone who came into their sights - The battles against Cragclan were the worst of it. Everyone needed to die but she wanted the leader to herself, planning to make a show of his death. In the end, she got her wish and captured Pinestar in a patrol and dragged him back to their camp with her warriors…only to then execute him in front of everyone before ordering Riftclan to kill the rest. Cragclan had fallen and she’d fulfilled her deal with Mattedmoth.

It was a surprise to have her first kit, Midnightkit, but adored her daughter a lot and wanted to be a better parent than her own was. Those around Riftstar saw her soft and loving side for pretty much the first time in their life. Spikeshade randomly brought back two kits called Saplingkit and Flailkit for Riftstart to adopt as he ‘found’ them. Riftstar did so...despite knowing they were the product of an affair. She forgave her mate and still loved them like they were her own.

From a clan-slaughtering force of nature to fear, Riftclan eventually started to struggle with food and prey as they faced a famine and a savage dog pack moving close to their territory. This eventually led to Spikeshade dying although Riftstar didn't seem to grieve her mate. She was actually heartbroken when her adopted daughter Saplingpaw was killed off by dogs early on in their apprenticeship- the clan now facing mass loss for one of the first times. But despite this, Riftstar remained strong and still showed Riftclan they were strong too.

It came as a shock to her when a rogue showed up to the clan, being related to one of Riftstar's brothers. She was very closed off to this cat, Blueblade, but ended up trusting him and became pretty close. Losing two of her close family, Riftstar wanted to do anything she could to protect her remaining family. Despite her effort, the starvation in the clan and threat of dogs continued even when she made all apprentices into warriors to help. In the end, Riftstar lost most of her lives from starvation, fending off a dog and later had her last life in a fire.

Despite everything, she never regretted her actions nor affiliations. All the death by her claws, blood spilled because she ordered it and even the end of her clan never made her second-guess anything. She died with pride.
