Personality

Cabbage is a bit loud and excitable, and he often tends to jump into situations without thinking. He's very reckless in that nature, always wanting to solve things by fighting and running in. Though he can be kind to others, he has a hard time connecting with emotions much.

Despite seeming a bit headstrong, Cabbage often has issues with standing up for himself. He a lot of the time when something happens that he feels is unfair to him, he'll just end up pouting instead of arguing about it. But luckily, over time he's learned to control this feeling, and now he feels more confident in himself and in his ability to battle now.

Relationships

Maple

[Friend]

Cabbage admires Maple's strength and skill in battle, and even though for a while he had a bit of an issue of her feeling overprotective, and him feeling like she didn't think he was good enough, they worked through most of their issues. And Cabbage would do anything to stick by Maple's side

Ace

[Friend]

Cabbage finds Ace to be a powerful ally, and he often likes to train with him. Ace tends to see the potential in Cabbage's abilities, and helps him bring out his strengths.

Alli

[Friend]

Cabbage isn't super close to Alli, and isn't always appreciative of her unwarranted advice to him. But still, he does think she's nice, and tries his best to nice to her in return.

Sean

[Friend?]

At first, Cabbage didn't really like Sean much, thinking he was just a big jerk. But he seems to learn to be a bit more accepting of Sean on the team, though the two do still tend to butt heads a lot of the time.

Mitzi

[Friend]

Cabbage enjoy's Mitzi's personality, and tends to click well with her. He seems to find her teasing amusing, and also seems to like that she seems to believe in his strength.

Charcoal

[Friend]

Despite the awkward introduction that Cabbage got to Charcoal, he does seem to like her. He thinks she's really strong, and even if he's not keen on being on the receiving end of her fire, he does want to learn a bit from her.

STORY

(Spoilers Ahead!)

Backstory

Cabbage lived in the forest for a while with a group of other shroomish, though lately he had been tasked with defending their territory, which is unusual since Shroomish used to travel around a lot.

He didn't really want this role, but he tried his best in his new position. But he knew he wasn't that strong, and wished he could be stronger to defend himself.

During the Comic

One day a strange Mudkip and her group went into the woods to pass through. And Cabbage wanted to take the opportunity to stop them. Though after being beaten, he had to give up and show the group through the forest instead. While there, Cabbage got to observe Maple battle, and was really impressed by her battle skills, and asked her to let him join so he can get stronger.

Cabbage helped get the first badge, though he took a lot of damage during that match, which makes Maple hesitant to let him participate in gym battles more, even with him saying he can handle it. This has caused a little tension, but it went unnoticed by Maple for a while.

Eventually, when training for the third gym battle, Sean provoked Cabbage into attacking him. And Ace took Cabbage away, offering to fight him to train. While Cabbage lost that battle, Ace complimented him on learning new strategies to fight for himself. This all came to fruition during the third gym battle, where Cabbage almost lost his life fighting. But he turned it around, going to evolve instead, and turning the tides back in Maple's teams favor, and winning them the third badge.
