The oldest son of two members of the Fate’s Edge Crew—Rohan Walia and Miles Peura—Magnus is a walking, talking teenage dream. People are just drawn to him like a magnet, no pun intended. Alas, he’s a smart guy. He knows at the end of the day it’s not genuine. Teenagers these days can be painfully superficial after all, especially when both of your parents are in history books.

Thank the Gods he manages to meet the one person in the city who doesn’t really care about all that.

Kind and well mannered, Magnus is probably the most positively viewed children related to the Fate’s Edge crew. At least, to his face. Yeah sure, no one really has an actual bad thing to say about him, but he can still feel the weird glances and side eyeing from his peers—especially at school. Sure there is nothing inherently wrong about being quiet, but be too quiet and people will either think you’re uninterested or dull. It as though people like the thought of him, and nothing more. This is unfortunately the fine line Magnus walks.

Though it feels as though he is walking on eggshells at times, it doesn’t deter his kind hearted and well mannered nature. All in all, Magnus is a good kid overall, but can be a bit too introverted and awkward for his own good at times. As a result, his most of his peers quickly become unsettled and he pretends not to notice.

Because of this, opening up to others steadily became a harder thing to do for him—it being something he struggles with greatly. That, paired with his shyness, can be a hard thing for some people to look past. Magnus is very cognizant of the whole situation, so he eventually attempts to improve himself as a person one summer. This specific summer being the one where Magnus ended up meeting Carson for the very first time. In a way, he hedged all his bets on this homeless high schooler and it ended up working out in more ways than one.

In his own odd way, Carson sort of rubbed off on Magnus—the Ice elemental becoming increasingly more vocal about things like his opinions or emotions in general. He quite literally used to repress a majority of the good and the bad, not letting those more intense emotions shine through to the masses. Nowadays Magnus jokes around more, let’s himself argue, gets frustrated audibly, and stresses out pretty visibly. It’s quite unfortunate that stressing out is the thing he does most often.

Basic Ice Manipulation

Race related. Magnus is able to create, shape, and manipulate ice—directing it to wherever he wishes with his will. He can even control the temperature of the surrounding air. An important distinction to note is that he can indeed freeze water, but not control the substance itself.

Cold Immunity

Race related. This is exactly what it sounds like. Magnus is immune to the cold and ice—being unable to be harmed by both their direct and indirect affects. As a result, cold climates don’t affect him much and won't decrease his body temperature. Say goodbye to the risk of frostbite, baby!

Ice Breath

Race related. Magnus can generate and manipulate ice or cold within him in a way that allows him to shape the exhaling of the effect. He can indeed freeze things using this ability. It sort of makes blowing on warm drinks or hot soup a pain, though. It can be a bit hard to control at times.

Healing

Race related. Magnus can heal himself or others by using ice, absorbing frozen energies and using them to freeze molecules, renewing damaged cells, causing them to stop bleeding. However, unlike water healing, ice healing actually sort of hurts whoever he is trying to help. As a result, he only uses it in more dire circumstances.

Way of the Bow

A skill learned during the events of Soldier, Poet, King. Other more traditional weapons seemed a bit too brutal for Magnus to learn. At least, in his opinion. As a result, he learned how to use a bow from the partner of his younger sister, Muse—Abner Savatier. Magnus isn't perfect at it, but he's come a long way.

Cooking Skills

Something learned from his father, Miles. Magnus is actually the second best cook in the house. It was a skill honed over a long period of time, and it wasn't something that came to him all that easily. It was hard work improving his cooking skills to where there are now, but it was very much worth it.

Musicality

A singer, a dancer, and a very skilled pianist. Magnus doesn't do all this to show off, I promise. The preforming arts is just something that has been ingrained into Rohan's side of the family for the longest of times. Magnus still enjoys persuing these hobbies, though. It's not like he's being forced to do any of it. The only aspect about these hobbies that makes him uncomfortable is when he has to preform in front of a crowd.
