The eldest daughter of two members of the Fate’s Edge Crew—Yasir and Elena Watts—Ranita is certainly the most positive of her generation. It is clear however that this stems from a strong need for validation. She continuously strives to be someone that both her parents can be proud of, eager for their praises. It has worked in her favor thus far, at least.

It seems as though pressure can create diamonds after all.

Filled to the brim with confidence and spunk, Ranita is one hell of an over achiever. So much so in fact that ninety percent of her classmates find her absolutely obnoxious. Turns out, being a straight A student who constantly flaunts her good grades out of sheer excitement alone can made you pretty unlikable. She’s the kind of girl who will tell you random fun facts whatever chance she gets, only to have eyes rolled at her for even opening her mouth in the first place.

However, she does her best to shake these more sour interactions off, letting them slide off her back like water. It doesn’t work all of the time, but most of the time. In her more soft hearted moments, crying does indeed happen once alone. Either way, she convinces herself all is well, even when things truly aren’t. Not the best way to deal with things, but at least she’s not crying constantly. At the end of the day, Ranita tries her hardest to put out positive energy into the world.

Ranita is just someone who likes to keep herself moving, busying herself with errands or learning new things or doing her hobbies. She even makes a habit of going to the gym a few times a week to keep in good shape. Feeling productive just makes her feel better about herself. She constantly jokes that she would die if she stopped moving, kind of like a shark.

There is a genuine whimsical nature about Ranita, especially in relation to romance. She basically believes that everyone has their person, platonic or romantic—adoring both real and fictional love stories more than anything. Ranita has been constantly looking for love since middle school, consistently being disappointed over and over again. It’s a bit hard to find someone in the city who doesn’t want to date you just to get close to your parents or your family’s money. Romance is an exhausting feat, but she’s positive it’ll be worth it in the end. It’ll all work out—right?

Basic Water Manipulation

Race related. Ranita is able to create, shape, and manipulate water—directing it to wherever she wishes with her will. It is important to note that she can utilize some of its forms; steam, sweat, water pressure, etc. However, this excludes both blood and ice.

Underwater Breathing

Race related. She is able to breathe in both air and water, being capable of staying and breathing underwater for long quantities of time. Ranita will have to eventually resurface, however. She isn’t an aquatic Semiferum after all, so she can’t stay underwater forever.

Water Detection

Race related. Think of it as being a walking, talking dowsing rod. Ranita can both follow and sense the presence of water, knowing the amount or size of water she is sensing and whether or not it is hidden. Very useful if you somehow find yourself in the desert I suppose.

Healing

Race related. Ranita can heal themselves or others by using water. She does this by absorbing water molecules and transferring medicament into the body at a molecular level or by having water molecules repair and regenerate damaged cells and molecules. However, there are always certain severe wounds that cannot be healed this easily.

Way of the Tome

A skill learned during the events of Soldier, Poet, King. It's quite literally knowledge in magics, making Ranita able to cast both offensive and defensive spells. She is far from perfect at utilizing these skills, getting extremely embarrassed when things go wrong—and things go wrong a bit too often. Not always...but often.

Mechanic Skills

Something learned from her mother. Ranita would always watch Elena work on the vehicles of their neighbors or family members when young. Eventually, once Ranita was middle school aged, Elena began to teach her daughter—finally putting together that Ranita had a genuine interest in it. She does pretty well at it, fixing up cars and motorcycles constantly just for fun. It's also just something she loves to do with her mom.
