Kronos Vosk is an incredibly skilled hunter who tied for 1st as the best hunter in the Fifth Fleet academy. He has a lot of pride for what he does, and will treat nearly anything as a competition or challenge. He doesn't like being wrong and he doesn't like people who think they're better than him (primarily Nine).  He values hard work and obedience so much so that he nearly abandoned having relationships of any kind for most of his life. He gets a lot of attention from women, but he's more likely to go on a hunt than a date.

Kronos is a tall, well-built hunter with tanned skin, slicked back teal hair, silver eyes, and a gold scar running down the left side of his face. He's considered quite masculine because of his broad shoulders, chiseled body, and strong jaw. The scar on his face starts right above his left eyebrow and ends midway on his left pec. Despite his large size, he's very agile, and is even considered graceful in his movements. This was achieved by lots of training, stretching, and working out.

Kronos is a very loyal and hardworking man. He follows the rules to a T and never questions authority. Though he's normally reserved, he can get agitated quickly, which often leads to physical or verbal fights, or competitions of sorts. He's one of the best hunters of the New World, and he has an ego to match.  He'll assume he's the greatest at most things until proven otherwise. It's bad enough to the point that he'll one-up people unconsciously.  He spent years building up the experience and skills to get to the top, so he's very knowledgeable about hunting, and likes to pass on tips to others. Despite his devotion to duty he has an even stronger devotion to his comrades. He cares deeply for his friends, even if he'll never show it, and is always looking out for them. An insult directed to a friend is like an insult directed to him, and he tends to get overprotective. Because he was a wandering hunter in his youth, he didn't interact with people for extended periods of time, so he's not the best socially. Sometimes he's too blunt, and other times he doesn't say anything at all, but deep down he struggles with trying to be more vulnerable. He is, however, a good flirt, and he knows how to draw in the ladies. Because of years being alone with no experience with people, Kronos isn't the best friend you could have, and can be a pain to be around, but he's willing to try to learn and grow because if making new friends in the New World has taught him anything, it's that he never wants to be lonely again.

History

Kronos' parents met in the new world. His father was a hunter in search of riches and his mother was a botanist. They were young and fresh to the first fleet, and there was a lot to discover. Caelum in particular was obsessed with locating the elusive elder dragon Kulve Taroth that had made an appearance not a few years before his arrival. It was reported that she was clad in pure gold, and that her horns alone could make any man rich enough to rival kings. He was smitten. It became his dream to find and hunt the beast. Along the way he got to know Tellus through expeditions. She was equally alluring, so he vowed to make her his own. It took years to win her over, but it wasn't long after they started dating that they were married. They were wed for 5 years before Tellus convinced Caelum to start a family. Kronos was born during a difficult time to support families in Astera, but his parents did their best. It wasn't until he was 6 and his sister Rhea was born that his mother begged his father to go back to the old world. She believed that there was a safer more stable life for them there. And it was true, Kronos had just suffered a serious injury after attempting to see his dad in action outside the borders of Astera. Caelum was convinced that he had come across new signs of a Kulve Taroth appearance, and that excitement carried over to his son. When father set out, son promptly followed, and it didn't take him long to get lost. In the end, it was Kronos who caught a glimpse of the legendary creature. Alone and frightened, he took shelter in the mouth of a large craggy cave until he fell asleep. He awoke to the sound of something large passing by. He beheld it in awe: the Kulve Taroth was right there! But he was dumbfounded and in her way, so the monster swiped him aside like a pest. He survived with a deep, gold-filled gash over his left eye, a concussion, a broken shoulder, a few broken ribs, and various bruises. The last thing he remembered from that day was the glitter of gold as the elder dragon vanished underground. 

When Rhea was old enough to travel by sea, they sailed back to the old world and settled down in Jumbo village. There Kronos' mother started a botanical shop to earn money and further her field of work. For a time they were all happy with the change of pace, but then funds got tighter, Rhea got sick, and Kronos' father became more and more restless with the notion of being a famous hunter and gaining riches. Caelum's obsession with hunting and the "what if" of a wealthy lifestyle intoxicated Kronos. It was all he wanted to do, but he less and less time to learn about hunters as his mother needed more and more help from him. Eventually Rhea became bedridden, and none of their herbs and tonics were keeping her condition from getting worse. Caelum vowed to find a cure, and ventured to distant lands in search of an answer. But he never returned. The shop slowly fell into disarray as Tellus got desperate to save her daughter. Rhea's last words to her brother were "I think you will be the best hunter forever ever, and you are gonna be everyone's hero. I love you, Shiny, and Momma and Papa. I wish Papa was here... I know he wanted me to feel better. Can we...go flying tomorrow?" before she fell into a coma-like state and died a few days later. Tellus was agast. She was shocked, angry, deeply mournful and inconsolable. She couldn't understand where she had gone wrong, and she cursed her husband for abandoning them. Kronos tried his best to continue running the shop, but it wasn't long before they were run dry of product and zenny. Kronos begged his mother to leave with him to find another way at life, but she was stuck. So stuck that she snapped, ingested a poisonous plant, and effectively killed herself. Kronos was horrified and confused. He opted to block that memory and took what little useful things he could to travel with before setting out in a random direction. 

Life on the road wasn't as terrible as he thought, at first. There was so much to explore and discover, and it was the perfect escape from a life that had given him what he felt was nothing but grief. However, he knew nothing of the world by himself, and he would have died wandering the Ancestral Steppe if he hadn't been found by some traveling hunters from Val Habar.

Polaris
[Friends with benefits] Kronos really likes Polaris. She's hot, she's strong, and she's been the first true friend he's ever had. He feels comfortable around her and knows that she has his back no matter what. His life had been mostly solitary up until moving to the New World with the Fifth fleet, and he considers getting Polaris as his hunting partner to be the best thing that's ever happened to him. Now if he could only figure out women, his relationship with her would be PERFECT.

Nine
[Rival] Nine is the embodiment of everything Kronos hates in a person, and he doesn't really know why. Everyone else seems to look up to him or at least acknowledge his abilities, but Nine acts opposite. Always belittling him and trying to push his buttons. There's nothing Kronos would love more than to shut him up for good. 

Sergei
[Friend] Sergei is a loud confusing goof. He's energetic and cocky about himself sometimes, but other times he's a wreck. Kronos doesn't know what to do with him. Despite this, he's still fun to have around and is one of his first ever friends. He does care about him, even though he catches him sneaking peeks at Polaris... Sergei is one of those people that you can wholeheartedly trust without even thinking about it. Kronos realizes the importance of such a trait, and thus tries to give Sergei his best self in fear that he would exit their friendship promptly if he were to see his flaws.
