Mikio Fukuhara (福原美樹夫 Fukuhara Mikio) is a minor character in Corpse Party: Forbidden Rebirth. He is a student of Misato Municipal Brotherhood High's class 2-6, and the bassist for Electric Dreams.

He is a minor character in GOOD END, BAD END and REVERSE END, and a main character in THE LOST CHAPTER.

Design

Mikio is a teenage boy of above average height, with long black hair and pale orange eyes. His hair is always extremely messy, and he tries to keep it in place with a checker patterned head sweatband. On his right ear, he has a total on 5 piercings - two lobe, two helix and a conch piercing. On his left ear, he has three helix piercings, two lobe piercings and an industrial piercing. He also has two piercings on the left side of his lip.

His usual school uniform consists of a white collared shirt with a red t-shirt underneath, black slacks and brown loafers. He keeps a black gakuran jacket slung over his shoulder, and usually has some cigarettes in his breast pocket.

Personality

Mikio is a determined and level-headed student from Misato Municipal Brotherhood High's class 2-6. Full of ideas with a strong-willed personality to match, Mikio is both the manager, bassist, rapper and producer for Electric Dreams, a band formed by his friends Akihiko Kagurazaka, Mitsuharu Ohtaki, and Katsu Okonogi. With his eye for detail and ability to plan for any outcome, he works alongside his ex-girlfriend Maki Kotobuki to hold the band together, despite the fact that the two butt heads quite often about which direction to take the group.

Playing the role of the ‘bad boy’ of Electric Dreams, Mikio comes across as a cool, stoic playboy, often hooking up with older women after the band’s live performances and events. He portrays himself as the most mature member of the group, charming women left and right, much to Maki’s disgust. His natural charisma and cunning attitude have made him extremely popular among the girls at Misato Municipal, and he’s gradually dropped his old delinquent personality in favour of this more well-liked version of himself.

Though he appears calm and collected on the surface, the truth is that Mikio is a perfectionist with a short temper that rivals Akihiko’s. He worries about everything constantly, gets worked up over the most trivial things and insists everything has to be perfect, especially when it comes to Electric Dreams. Whether he has writer’s block, the other members are fooling around or he simply didn’t get enough sleep, he gets extremely irritated with everyone and everything around him, hence why he often needs Maki’s help with managing the band’s affairs. He only ever shows this side around his fellow band members, and can often be found chain smoking and muttering to himself outside the back entrance of wherever they’re performing.

His mature image usually gives off the vibe that he has his life sorted out, but the reality is that Mikio hates being alone - whether it’s some friends or a lover accompanying him, he needs someone there to ground him when he begins stressing out. This is the only reason Maki has stuck around for so long, since she knows that Electric Dreams would be screwed if she were to drop them now. It’s not just to do with organization, though - Mikio has a bad habit of overworking himself when left to his own devices, even forgetting to eat and sleep, so he needs someone to look after him and make sure he’s caring for himself, even when he forgets to.

Despite his appearance, Mikio has never so much as been in a fight before, thanks to his strategic planning. When he was in junior high, he always traveled in a pack - though he acted as the leader of his little gang, he always had other people there to back him up if things went south. It was with this group of people that he often taunted Mitsuharu Ohtaki, purposefully trying to rile him up and get a reaction out of him. Despite his cockiness and determination to upset him, Mikio knew he was weaker than Mitsuharu by a long shot, so he always backed off when tensions got too high, cowardly keeping himself out of harm’s way while letting his associates take the fall for him. Though he still teases Mitsuharu to this day, albeit to a much lesser degree, he’s still fully aware the latter could beat him in a fight and he’s careful not to push his limits.

Although he's had past issues with school, Mikio is now completely committed to achieving his dreams, which is partly where his obsession with perfection stems from. After being held back and needing to repeat his third year of junior high, he began to realize he wouldn’t be able to do anything with his life if he didn’t buckle down and start taking things seriously. He spent that year slowly distancing himself from his little gang, trying to grow as a person and working harder in class. Though he still has the appearance of a delinquent, he’s now deeply invested in achieving his goals and keeping his marks consistently high. He's known to be the voice of reason within the group, but that doesn't mean he'll stop his band members from getting into trouble - or that he won't join them.

Following Akihiko's death and subsequent removal from existence, Mikio became the new frontman of Electric Dreams, and his past rivalry with Mitsuharu was completely erased. So, when Mikio encountered Mitsuharu on the bridge during one of his walks, he was concerned and approached him as though he were a friend. He commented on Mitsuharu's expression, saying 'he hadn't seen him with a look like that since junior high', and asked when he started smoking again. When he didn't get an answer, he leaned on the railing next to Mitsuharu and asked for a cigarette.

The two smoked in silence for a few minutes, before Mikio asked him why he hadn't shown up to band practice that day. Mitsuharu mentioned Akihiko's absence, but, due to his removal from existence, Mikio had no idea who he was talking about. As he continued to deny Akihiko's existence, Mitsuharu became more frantic and angry. [unfinished]
