Songbird started out as a joke character, but became one of my more serious, lore rich, and beloved characters.

Songbird, in his younger years, was rather wreckless. He threw himself into situations without thinking them over, often times because of excitement. But other times, it was because of the overwhelming desire to do good and help others. His wreckless behavior partially comes from his past, where his running away from a situation had dire consequences.

In his older years, Songbird puts his intelligence to good use. He leads a rebellion with an open heart and quick mind. He uses his powers of time control to eliminate enemies and calculate decisions.

Arc One

Israel Songbird Benezra grew up in a small mining town, where tensions were high between the dwarves and non dwarves of the area. Songbird has always had a penchant for justice and, seeing the ill treatment of his peers in the town, formed a posse with his best friend, a half elf warlock named Rosie. At the time, Songbird didn’t know that Rosie was a warlock, or that her patron was subtly influencing her actions. Their relationship began to deteriorate as ideological differences between the two emerged. That, along with Rosie’s unrequited love for her friend and Songbird’s budding romance with a dwarf named Darby, caused a major split between the two. That night, Songbird fled town. Rosie’s patron, an unknown entity yet to reveal its identity, demanded sacrifice. It overtook her body and destroyed the town, leaving behind only scorched earth.
