Chad Kowalski

The first born and clear favorite of the three Kowalski brothers, Chad hogged all the attention from their parents and was loved unconditionally, even in spite of what a bratty kid he was growing up. Though he wasn't quite so gifted academically he always excelled in athletics, and won himself plenty of championships and trophies during his time wrestling in high school. But his real calling in life had always been the sea, and to travel the world by ship, and once he was old enough he joined the Navy, knowing full well the dangers he might face (as the US had just entered WWII and all.) It was everything he hoped it would be (and more!) He made all kinds of new friends, saw places he'd never dreamed of being able to visit, and loved practically every minute of it, even if his duties aboard the ship were fairly mundane (like, literally swabbing the decks.) Unfortunately, his great adventure came to an end in 1945, when his ship took heavy damage and was sunk...

Personality

Outgoing and personable, Chad loves attention and is generally a happy guy who loves meeting new people and making friends, (sometimes to the point where he lays it on too thick, like he's trying too hard to be friendly or make people laugh.) He's a hard worker, brave, and good at taking orders from his superiors, always with the "sir, yes, sir!", but also loves to party just as hard during his free time. Shore leave is always spent drinking and goofing around with the other sailors, which almost always includes a bit of friendly competition. He just loves trying to impress other guys with what skills and strength he has, usually in the form of bar games or arm wrestling. He can be pretty cocky in this regard, and is prideful and a bit full of himself in general. All in all he seems like a pretty fun guy to be around, if only he could find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him. He has a terrible temper and often can't hold himself back when something makes him angry. He'll fly into a rage like a madman, breaking things, swearing like a sailor (lol), and sometimes beating people up if they were the ones to set him off (or even if they just get in his way.) He's usually apologetic when it's all over (depending on who he's dealing with/what happened to piss him off) and others will often forgive him, while some find his actions unforgivable...especially if they've been hurt by him one too many times. He also has a hard time being nice to people who irritate him and can be quite a mean bully to those he doesn't like. Even to those he does like he often doesn't show affection "properly", he's too much of a "manly man" to express his feelings in any way besides teasing and rough housing.

Mannerisms

Grinning almost constantly, laughs often, winks at people a lot. He loves to whistle or sing when he's working and is rarely ever quiet (if he is quiet it must mean he's sad about something) and he generally speaks in a loud voice, especially if he's been drinking. His explosive temper really is unpredictable and can come out of nowhere or with little provocation, usually without any buildup or anything...like one minute he seems fine, then he's suddenly screaming "aw FUCK" and flipping a table. It doesn't take much at all to make him blush, which something he's a little embarrassed about.

Voice

Thinking about his voice more...he has a stronger Philly accent than the rest of his family, and does that stereotypical "fast talking" thing you sometimes hear in old movies. He also makes heavy use of all the slang & phrases that were common back in the 40s. He's got a good voice for radio, ppl back then would probably tell him. It's just difficult to describe, but he has a fairly pleasant and clear voice, with a noticeable accent.

Preferences

Likes: the ocean, boats & all things nautical, wrestling, partying with the boys (and guys in general), beer
Dislikes: stormy weather, his temper, needles, seasickness, slackers/lazy people, fish/seafood, losing, admitting when he's wrong

Looks

Hair: Brown with a reddish tint to it, it's cut short & has a few little curls in front. Sometimes is slicked back neatly with pomade. (It is actually kind of inspired by Vault Boy's hair, tbh.)

Eyes: Light sky blue colored, often narrowed or squinting when out in the sun due to a bit of a sensitivity to bright light.

Build: He's pretty "fit" looking, & has a strong upper body, muscular arms, and a fairly narrow waist with a flat stomach. He has very little body hair.

Scars/Body Modifications/Other distinguishing features: A black & white nautical star tattoo on each wrist.

Clothing

Out of his sailor uniform he dresses quite plainly: jeans or slacks and a plain or striped, tight-fitting t-shirt or tank top most commonly. Aside from his uniform, he very rarely wears long sleeves, even when it's cold.
