Janus

• Hands are always covered by oversized sleeves.
• Has an LED eyepatch over their left eye (right in our perspective). It changes pictures depending on their mood or environment.
• Internal organs, blush, and blood are blue instead of pink and red.
• Hair is usually cluttered with hair pins and clips.
• Cries stardust tears.

Janus acts pretty silly around pretty much everyone they meet. As a Saturnian, they are curious about how "Earthlings" live and how they tolerate the unordinary. They like to push people's buttons. Seeing Earthlings react to Janus' squabbles always entertains them: Irritation, agitation, humiliation, insecurity, and uncertainty. Toying with Earthling emotions is fun, but Janus treasures the kindness they display. Almost any tokens of affection are invited to them and are accepted with unnecessarily excessive pride. To those they consider their friends, even in one-sided relationships, Janus goes overboard to share the love back. So don't be too surprised once Janus starts sending you glitter-covered cards and parades of hugs. It's worth it when Janus notices how annoying their persistent gift-giving starts to bother their friends. At least Janus would earn some more attention that way. Whether or not the recieving end finds it bothersome, giving and recieving wonderful gifts from those they care about is something Janus can never say no to.

Every coin has its faces, right? Same goes for Janus. They can be nice to people who start off nice to them. Make one mistake of earning their bad side, and it makes them difficult to trust you again. Janus also has jealousy issues. When they don't recieve enough attention around other people, they will go out of their way to make someone talk to them. They're more gentle and polite around people they like, something as small as a tap on the shoulder to bring their attention back to them. When things get desparate, Janus' jealousy mixes with anger and will take more excessive lengths to be noticed. They'll throw fits when they feel ignored, draw someone away from others to talk to them alone, or escalate to violence when someone seems to refuse acknowledging their existance. They tend to hold homocidal thoughts towards anyone that pisses them off, even people they're rather close with. Acting on them depends on the person. For the most part, they will spew death threats at the person they hate, call them names, bring up their past/triggers, or use their powers to fight them, going as far as killing them if necessary.

They try not to make too much of a scene when their temper gets a hold of them, but it can be proven difficult sometimes. If you really know Janus well, they are especially known for being incredibly disingenuous. If they have to, Janus will play the fool as a mechanism for hiding the truth. They will play dumb and ask/repeat questions as if completely unaware of the situation they're in or as if they were never there when the said-situation happened, as well as give vague or incomplete answers. They hope it annoys people enough to be impatient and give up on prying answers off of them. Plus, playing the part of a naive little "Earthling" is too cute not to perform in front of others. Bonus attention-hog points for Janus.

Janus was one out of the billions of aliens that made up their home planet. Janus was born from the stardust of two supernovas, which contained unhealthy amounts of energy beyond what normal aliens could withstand if abused. The normals were considered the Stelites and th abnormal misfits were the Novies. Novies like Janus lived completely separate lives from all the Stelites, each race inhabited in their own realms ruled by different leaders. Under the kingdom they lived in, Janus was stripped of many rights. They can only go and stay outside for a fixed amount of time everyday. There were certain places they weren't allowed to go. They couldn't buy, or own certain things, let alone eat certain foods claimed to trigger their impulsive tendencies by the government. They couldn't interact with the Stelites or talk bad about their own government. There was a boarder that split the two realms and heavily guarded for no Novi to pass through. A few bad words under their breath and off goes another humiliating punishment for all the public to see: hallucinatory trauma, tarring, hair burns, eye scorching, or death sentences in more serious cases. This was the world Janus grew up living, one filled with underlying fear, anger, and disturust. Saturn was a world where "everyone is treated equally and fairly, just as any world should be". Seems to Janus that some aliens were more "equal" than others. And they're going to fix that.

With the aid of other fellow Novies that were disgusted with the way they lived, Janus assassinated their king in his sleep. They enclosed him into a giant gelatin cake, chopped into dozens of pieces, and freely flung the slices around their realm for the aliens to feast on. It didn't take the guards very long to capture everyone involved in the murder, leaving Janus to escape into their UFO. As they fled away from their planet, a meteor rapidly collided with their ship. It sent Janus speeding further away, losing control of their ship. They plummet down to Earth and crashed. Janus was no longer in their UFO when they woke up, nor were they exactly an alien anymore. They were resting on someone's bed, and more than five times as tall as before. So was their favorite robe. Their tiny ship was found on top of a counter, crumbled like paper. Someone, a young looking yet tall boy, was examining it curiously. He would turn out to be the first person to introduce them to planet Earth as the very moment they made eye contact for the first time. With a bright smile, he introduced himself as Jester.

At the time, Janus was very shy. Being the only known Saturnian alien to have arrive on planet Earth was actually terrifying. They were all alone without their friends. They were reluctant to open up to the robotic individual. Their first impulse lead Janus to attack him with slime. It did nothing more than make his bedroom a mess. Jester seemed to find more amusement to the brightly colored muck, much to his talking rabbit's dismay. Jester proceeded to wear a cheerful smile and take the alien under his care. Janus' injuries were treated and whatever curiousities Janus had about the planet were answered to the best of his abilities. Shortly, they were introduced to Tsukiko, and from there, Janus grew an attachment to them. They were very friendly Earthlings with fascinating abilities of their own. They both guided them through living the "Earthling lifestyle" and introduced them to their foods, fashion, music, entertainment, and the arts of pranking and magic. It wasn't the same magic Janus had in mind, but it made their stay on Earth much more enjoyable. While Jester and his rabbit were away for work, Tsukiko would drop by to check up on Janus whenever she's not in school.

Being surrounded by such energetic Earthlings grew Janus completely out of their shyness. They were a chatty alien who would mess with the two often and sneak small tokens of affection whenever they could, sometimes in the form of pranks. After their first year of being accustomed to the place, they grew tired of being hidden from the rest of society. They wanted to meet more people and just be a part of their world. Earth was their new home, after all. Janus pulled Jester aside to talk about it, and he suggested joining him to being a part of the circus team. The amusement park he works at is a popular attraction, and he pointed out how they already pull off the look of a colorful clown. They were enthusiatic to join him and perform tricks and acrobatic stunts with him. Being a part of the circus was one of Janus' first times being exposed to the rest of the outside world, and being able to enlighten other fellow aliens through something they have fun doing was living the dream. Jester and Tsukiko couldn't be more proud of how much Janus had flourished since their first time meeting.

Janus had an idea of how popular Jester was once they were free to stroll around with him outside of the house. Practically everyone he walks across gives Jester a fellow greeting. The whole city of Silverbrooke was friends with him. They've seen Jester perform little tricks to kids that end up giving them candy or toys. Women would be given given flowers and once in a while, Jester can fill an empty coffee cup to the brim with cash to give to a random stranger or a homeless man. He had treats for dogs being walked, and Janus would encounter Jester performing on the streets and earning money off the side from that. Everyone loved him. So much that it felt like Janus has been getting less attention from him over the next couple years. It was cool for a little while, but jealousy got a hold of them. It reminded Janus of that same attention they would get from their friends back at Saturn. They doubted they were alive at the time, so Janus grows sour when they feel ignored. They decided that it meant Jester didn't really need them around anymore, that they've been nothing but a little plaything up until that point, only to be discarded like garbage. Janus abruptly quits from the circus team, saying that being a circus performer wasn't their thing anymore. Jester insisted to continue financially support Janus until they find themselves a career they can be happy with, while also keeping an open door for them to return to "the family". Oh, the nerve for Jester to say such a thing to them with that stupid smile on his face. Janus will not stand to share the same roof with a robotic idiot who thinks they're so much better than them.

Instead of losing Tsukiko's trust through murdering Jester, they decided to take steps to live an independant life. While Jester had to get involved in the process, they were able to rent a house. Janus made sure to be able to keep in touch with Tsukiko while starting on a fresh clean slate. Word on the street was that a new girl just moved in not to far from their neighborhood. It was merely some time after Janus had settled into their new home, and they've heard some nice things about her. Upon meeting, they found out she was another fellow alien that made it to the planet. Her name was Aster. It was true love at first sight. They took her to downtown Silverbrooke where they hung out at the amusement park and shopping for clothes and accessories together. After making wishes by the fountain, Aster agreed to spend the night with them. Janus couldn't believe to feel this lucky, but to this day they strongly felt those wishes they shared proved their love was meant to be. They've learned and still continue to learn a lot from Aster through her endearing innocence. Normally Janus' jealousy issues would prevented them from prolonging such a relationship, but they found Aster to be too pure of heart to do any harm to them, even during times they find themselves angry over little things. She was there for them throughout the rest of their life on Earth, as little as lonely day to as big as helping retrieve their friends back from Saturn. Aster is their angel who they love with all their heart. Hence, on September 24th, Janus proposed to her. They will live happily ever after under the tranqulity of this heavenly planet called Earth throughout the rest of their lives.
