"Hmm, to write in first person or in third person? Oh I simply can't choose..."
Laverne is a well-mannered and polite girl who would never harm a fly. She speaks with an air of elegance and often acts calm and collected during most situations. Being imaginative, she can be seen daydreaming a lot during her free time whilst drinking a cup of tea. Her calm and graceful demeanor is often what draws people towards her.
Laverne is also very responsible and tidy, to the point where others may call her a “neat-freak”. If anything is out of place or dirty, she will not hesitate to clean it up and will do so even with no one asking her to. She loves organizing and makes sure everything is in their proper places.
Being at home most of the time and home-schooled along with her sibling Cameron, Laverne generally does not have many friends. Though she does go out often because she is the one doing the groceries and other errands that require going out of the house. Those who know her are generally from the school she works in as well as her neighbors. She is not the type to initiate conversations with strangers, but she is always happy when people come talk to her about anything. Laverne always makes herself available to others should they need a listening ear, and people know they can trust her with secrets.
Deep down, Laverne is afraid of forming deep connections with anyone, even with the friends she is already close with. She worries people would leave her behind and forget about her, much like how she was left behind and forgotten by her parents when she was still a child. There are times where she often blames herself for them leaving, so she tries her best to make sure that she does not upset anyone around her. Because of this, she is often the one who asks to leave first during hangouts. She is afraid of being alone, even when the other person promises that they will return.
With generally much free time at home aside from her studies, Laverne has taken reading and writing as a hobby. She wishes to be a published author one day and sees to it that she attains that dream. She often writes short stories or novels with genres ranging from family and relationships, fantasy, and romance- the last one being her favorite to write. She wishes to be in love one day and often projects that yearning though her writing.
Laverne was originally born with the last name Zuciane. She was adopted by the Carier family when she was young.
When she was born, she had a twin brother as well. Her parents were not expecting this, and they only expected having a son. Nevertheless, Laverne's parents decided to take care of both of them.
By the time Laverne and her twin brother were 5, their parents started to run out of money. It has come to a point where they could no longer support the twins, and they could only take care of one. Of course since they only wanted a son at first, they decided to keep the brother. Laverne's parents planned to leave her out in a faraway park away from home.
That day came, and Laverne had no idea that her parents and twin brother were never coming back to get her. She just thought that they forgot something back at home and decided to get it. She waited hours, but they never returned.
She left the park in search of her parents and wandered the streets for hours but alas, she did not know how to get back home. She was starting to get cold, hungry and tired so she had no choice but to ask for shelter from anyone.
She stumbled upon a mansion's backyard and there she saw Cameron, siting down on one of the yard's swings. She immediately went to them, crying and told them she "didn't know where mother and father was". Cameron told their parents that there was a girl who appeared to be lost in their backyard and they immediately took her in, fed her, and took care of her.
Since Cameron's parents very fairly rich and had enough to support another child, they decided to take her in as a companion for Cameron, since Cameron's parents were barely home due to work. Since then, Laverne was now considered part of Cameron's family and changed her last name from Zuciane to Carier. She, along with Cameron, are being homeschooled by a tutor their parents hired. Cameron doesn't like being in the same room as the tutor so she voluntarily reteaches the lessons to Cameron because it also helps with her learning.

Currently, Laverne works as an assistant school librarian. The school initially did not want to, but the principal was a close friend of her parents and he saw Laverne's potential as a writer so he agreed. People who hang out a lot at the library always recognize Laverne because of her kindness and beauty. She is also good with kids so a lot of them come up to her for a chat about their day. Laverne enjoys all of this, and comes home telling Cameron about the stories of her work in school.
"Cameron really isn't the person others may think they might be. They're kindhearted, funny, and very compassionate. I love them with all my heart and I would do anything to protect my older sibling."
Cameron is Laverne’s older sibling, though not by blood. She respects and loves them a lot. She accompanies them most of the time and takes care of them, though she sometimes gets frustrated with how messy they are around the house especially when it comes to cooking and painting. Despite this, she is very thankful for their family for adopting her at a very young age.

Both Laverne and Cameron are very close. They would do most things together like take walks along the empty streets and watching movies at home. Laverne willingly learned sign language in order to communicate the same way with Cameron, and so Cameron would not always have to rely on writing what they wanted to say.
Laverne is the only person Cameron can be comfortable around. At the same time, Cameron is the only person Laverne can confide with about secrets. While they are inseparable, they both also respect each other’s personal spaces which is why they have their own separate rooms at home.
While Laverne is interested in writing, Cameron is interested in drawing. They would both collaborate and make their own illustrated stories in their spare time. Their dream is to make books together with stories written by Laverne with art illustrated by Cameron.
"I find Chanto very endearing, though I'm not sure why she never looks at me in the eye when we talk. She does make for good company though, especially when we have tea back at my place."
Laverne finds Chanto cute, and often sees her visiting when she works at the library. She appreciates the fact that Chanto takes the time to chat her up during her off-time. Laverne probably considers Chanto her closest friend in school since she isn’t particularly close to anyone else. During some occasions, Laverne would invite her for tea back at her place knowing Chanto would appreciate the scenery.

Chanto was the first one to see Laverne in person, even before Laverne worked as a student librarian in their school. As Chanto was walking home, she decided to take a quick detour and visit a mansion she's heard about from her friends because it is said that it had a really beautiful garden with an assortment of plants and flowers.
Even before Chanto reached the mansion, she could see how big and stunning the garden was from afar. Chanto stood outside the mansion and admired the beauty of the whole place. The tiniest voice in her head told her to sneak in the garden for a little bit so she could at least see how the garden looked inside. Chanto spent minutes pacing back and forth thinking to herself whether it was a good idea or not but ultimately decided to climb the gate for just a little, little while.
Chanto was right– the whole place was gorgeous and looked just like how she imagined it. She could tell that the owners of the place took very well care of all the flora. As she was about to leave, she spotted a girl about her age walking towards her nearby. Chanto uttered a quiet squeak as she tried to hide behind a bush as quickly as possible. It did nothing though, as the girl asked her to come out and explain herself. Chanto shyly came out from hiding and that was when she got a clear view of the girl.
She is so pretty, Chanto thought to herself. Laverne squinted at her as she had been staring instead of giving an answer. Laverne cleared her throat, bringing Chanto back to reality as she sputtered out apologies for trespassing and stated that she only wanted to look at their garden. Laverne, believing her sincerity, chuckled and asked if Chanto wanted to have some tea outside, to which Chanto happily accepted.
The next time Chanto and Laverne would meet would be in school. They would both be surprised seeing each other there, as Chanto did not know there would be a new librarian and Laverne did not know that Chanto went to the school she would work for. They became closer, and Laverne would sometimes invite Chanto for a cup of tea at her garden again, since she knows she loves the place.
"It's always a pleasure to be in Aaron's company. I do enjoy the stories he tells about his travels or his friends Chanto and Duncan."
Laverne enjoys Aaron's company a lot as he has a lot of stories to tell about his travels. On occasion they would go out for coffee and Aaron would recommend her different places to visit.
Laverne hears about Aaron through Chanto, as she insisted they should meet up. Laverne already knew about him prior since Chanto has mentioned him several times during their tea sessions.
During one of their meetups, Laverne told him that she was a lesbian, and asked him not to tell his other friends. Aaron was cool with that but asked why. Laverne said she'd rather disclose that information to them herself, and Aaron merely smiled and said he did the same thing with the fact that he was gay.
"I admire Duncan for always taking his studies very seriously. I often see him reading and borrowing books from the library too, although I'm not sure why he always approaches me specifically."
Laverne often sees Duncan in the library, either reading or doing research. They don't interact on a personal level that much aside from the occasional small talk regarding school, but she still sees him as a friend since he is close with both Chanto and Aaron.

Duncan first sees Laverne working at the school library on her first day there and asks what her purpose is since she's a new face. Laverne mentions she started work as an assistant librarian with the approval of the principal, but he doubts that. Duncan asks what kind of books she's into and she replies with a list of novels, some of which are also Duncan's favorites-- to his surprise.
As they both share the love for reading, they get along quite well. At times they would even discuss about current events and debatable topics, as they both have very interesting takes and opinions.
"...Sometimes I wonder if he's doing okay."
Lucius is Laverne's twin brother. They used to be very close as toddlers before she was abandoned by her family. Laverne thinks about him from time to time, wondering if he's doing well now that she is not a part of her old family anymore. Laverne used to call Lucius “Lulu”
