- Compared to his other mage companion, he summons different kinds of swords and other blades from his book. His preferred spell is to unsheathe a sword between the pages of his spellbook.
Not one for eloquence, Sigmund is a gruff yet practical man of magic. Though dedicated to his lord's vision, he is more social and loose than his partner, willing to crack affable jokes during combat. He has little tolerance for interruptions and is known to have a short fuse when the enemy gains the advantage. During his leisure time, he is actually a kind soul who doesn't stress too much over his losses, often spending time working for charity for. He is the one who offers an optimistic and friendly view to his brooding comrades, occasionally his soft side surface when he fights, as he remarks on his reluctance to fight against women, children, or men with good character.
- He is the direct descendant of the two heroes of Cathal, Saurin and Siegfried.
> He's adopted Saurin's powerful magic capabilities, but also Siegfried's weapon mastery.
> He also adopted Ser Valence's knight enchanting abilities. He is capable of summoning a shield that withstands most offensive magic, just like Valence's shield.
> Preferably fights with a sword. - The spells he casts are mainly for close-combat purposes.
> Most likely to pull a sword between the pages of his spell book and fight with it.
> Can summon a rain of blades, but not as widespread as Saurin's. - Always 100% against blood magic.
- Was supposed to become the city's Champion, but was beaten by his elder sister - who became Champion instead. He still has a seat working for Emperor August after his dedication to his Kingdom.
> Feels indifferent towards the Emperor, but always yields to him regardless of how he's against certain policies. - Likes to go out hunting.

> Scavenges as well and always has a pouch of berries with him. - Utterly terrified of bears.

History
Because of his direct lineage to one of the most powerful mages of the Cathal Kingdom and one of the Champions of the same kingdom, his family cared more about their bloodline and their superb fighting and magical abilities. Fortunately, Sigmund had both of these characteristics and he was send directly to the Valence Knight Enchanter academy as a student that is superior than all of his peers.
He graduated early and took part of a Knight Enchanter division, until he preferred to stay behind the walls rather than going out to war. Ardal tried to take this path by participating in the Grand Tourney to become their Kingdom's champion but failed after he couldn't fend off his elder sister - who's close combat abilities were practically unrivaled. Yet, instead of heading back to the battlefields, he found himself working directly for Emperor August as one of his Knight Mages.

The Story Now
Ardal missed fighting outside of the walls and hence decided he'd follow Lawrence and help him with his mission of finding a certain individual. However, the journey of finding their target was long and arduous, but he never realized that she was with them for quite a while....

Lawrence is his rival, but Sigmund considers him as a close friend as well. Ardal was only a year ahead of him and graduated from the mage's academy at the top (even earlier than the students of his age), but to his surprise Winchester had done the same soon after. Sigmund is concerned for his companion, and follows suit in his quest of finding his target.
Roy was an odd individual, someone he wasn't entirely used to when living in his former home. However, Roy was tolerable and didn't understand why Lawrence was following this boy around the lands. Yet he seemed a bit suspicious of him, and often keeps a close eye on him while on their journey.
Right now, Saurin is very frail and old but remains alive due to whatever magic he has within his body and the crystal. As patriarch, he watches over Sigmund, who is next in line of acquiring the crystal. Sometimes Sigmund reminds him of his beloved who had already passed long ago...
