This literally directly coordinates with his quirk. He also chooses not to have a little saying with his hero name because he thinks it's silly. He finds his overly positive attitude annoying, and cant stand his snarky remarks towards others. Unlike with Orenji though Katashi tends to mind his business and stay away from Yuuma, and Yuuma does the same with him. |   |
☯ Quirk + Costume ☯ Quirk Name: Mediumship Type: Emitter Description: Katashi's quirk allows him to see/speak to spirits freely. He's able to communicate with them and use them to help him in combat. Fighting Style: Uses a mix of both close and distance based combat. Strengths: • Katashi can ask the spirits to distract his enemy, whether it be having them touch his opponent to throw them off, knock things over, or even speaking to them • Katashi can also ask the spirits to check out another room for him and tell him what's going on in that exact room so he can plan his next move • It can cause negative side effects for him due to how much energy it takes, but if need be Katashi can ask the spirits to physically harm his opponent. He cant heavily rely on the supernatural in combat though. • Sometimes the spirits will aid their powers for Katashi to use for small intervals, such as floating in short distances • One of his best tricks is to have the spirits absolutely scare his targets in any way possible. Typical horror movie stuff to get them on edge. Weaknesses: • The big downside to Katashi's quirk is that the more energy draining the task is on the ghost that's aiding him, the more Katashi is prone to bleeding out of his nose/mouth and exhausting himself from such a high level of communication. Katashi could potentially black out from overusing his quirk and getting a migraine for a short while. • As stated before Katashi cannot solely rely on the supernatural in a fight. Because of this he has to really push himself to be trained in physical defense and using other methods of attacks with gadgets • Sometimes Katashi could potentially communicate with or summon a bad spirit. There have been times where he has caused a place to be haunted with a violent spirit or even become possessed for small amounts of time by said spirit, but he always manages to pull through. ☯ Background ☯ Katashi's quirk manifesting at such a young age was quite the terrifying experience for him. One can only imagine how it could feel to someone that young seeing dead people like that. Katashi had to struggle going through his childhood and getting used to his quirk, and it's not like his mother cared much in helping him either. He was also alienated from others at school all the time for having a quirk that was considered "creepy" by others. This feeling of being an outcast along with seeing terrifying figures every night really took a toll on him overtime, the only person in the world really helping him being his father. For these reasons Katashi considers his quirk a "curse". He doesn't like having it as it's mostly caused him nothing but misery in his life. One can only imagine how warped a child's mind could become knowing and learning of all the horrible things that could happen to a person. He began to show signs of lacking interest in life and isolating himself at an early age, unfortunately. During his late childhood he slowly began to confide more in the spirits he communicated with. Even though they weren't physical, he enjoyed their company at his worst moments and overtime he found that they would even do small tasks for him. He was really starting to unlock the potential in his power. He began to realize something the more he spoke with them though; they need help just like any other normal person would. Their constant requests and groans for help haunted him, and his mindset soon began to get the idea that in a society where being a hero is the norm, then he could really take the opportunity and elevate his status as a medium by confiding in his newfound otherworldly friends. To possibly solve their cases and bring whoever it is that could've ended their lives to justice. These thoughts he continued to have throughout his early teens is what helped convince Katashi to gravitate towards hero training. Essentially, Katashi wants to use his quirk in finding villains and criminals and bringing them to justice, as the spirits are the only ones who could really tell the truth about who ended their lives. Katashi trained himself relentlessly with the assistance of his father, thus helping him pass his UA entrance exams with total ease and starting his hero studies. While he does get the same alienated treatment from this school as he has his entire life, he is determined to follow his path on using his quirk for good use, no matter how high the stakes actually get. |
