The grandson of a celebrated and beloved detective whose life was taken suddenly.
Now he's on the hunt to find out the truth.

Jey was a well respected detective. Everyone admired him; even criminals couldn't hate him too much when he offered them freshly baked cookies and stories about his grandchildren. And he loved his family dearly. Whenever he had the time he would go straight home to check on his daughter and his two grandkids. He helped in any way he could, cleaning, cooking, or even helping the kids with their homework. No matter how the day started, it always ended with them all baking some treats to wind down with.
Gil loved his grandfather, he wanted to be just like him. He wanted to make him proud.
But one day, his grandfather never came home.
Gil and his family looked everywhere, asking anyone, and posted pictures all over. No one had seen where he went.
Something was wrong. Jey wouldn't have disappeared without warning, he would have tried to make contact or tell someone where he was going. Something happened, but there was no telling what.

It happened when Gil was young, but he never forgot. He held on to the hope that his grandfather was still out there, and he would find him if it was the last thing he did.
He studied to become a detective, but through personal events he found himself hating the so called "justice" he was meant to uphold. He quit, instead taking the job title as a private eye for anyone who could pay.
And in between time he could be seen still researching what happened to Jey.

Notes: Friendly reminder that Jey is dead (◡‿◡✿) I had a lot of ideas of what to do with this new path. My biggest idea was a good, tragic tale of Jey coming back to life as a monster that attacked the family and made Gil a monster hunter, but decided that this family went through enough already. Gil's sister should hopefully come soon! She's the whole reason he quit being a detective   As for the idea for them, well, Jey and his daughter were both in the Force, so I figured the grandkids would want to follow suit!

Personality: Hardened from years of focus and dedication, Gil ironically became the opposite of his grandfather: he's cold and bitter, and he doesn't want to talk to anyone. He doesn't easily trust others, even keeping a distance around his family. He's grown spiteful over the corruption he's seen inside the justice system, blaming it on the reason Jey hasn't been found yet.
There seems to be a warm center he has, but it's incredibly hard to pry it out of him. He also tends to be oblivious to advances, registering them more as needless banter.

Voice: Pessimistic and gruff; David Lodge

Drawing Details: Long, messy hair that's loosely put together, but with some going over part of his face. He has very pale skin with facial hair he maintains. His glasses have thick black frames, and there is a mole under his left eye. He wears a suit, sometimes without the tie, and almost always has his dark tan trench coat on.

Fun/Extra Facts:

- His sister's name is Ellie, making their combined name Ellie + Gil. Illegal.

- He smokes, a habit he picked up when he got too stressed with some cases.

- His sister is married to a mob boss, which was an absolute betrayal for someone working on the Force. Gil disowned her shortly after finding this out.

- Gil knows how to bake thanks to Jey. He's very good at it, though he rarely does it unless it's for himself. Or for his mother.

- Checks on his mother regularly.

- Listens to podcasts constantly. When he watches TV, he likes ABC Family and Lifetime.

- Has a weakness for bake sales and girl scout cookies.
