Utu and her five sisters are born into a pack living in an abandoned human village, led by a great leader who calls himself the King - Utu is very young when the King sees her for the first time, takes a liking to her immediately and decides to add her to his ever growing collection of wives when she's old enough - Utu's parents are more than pleased, because of the status boost, and even the possibility that the next king could be born into their family! - Utu is now being raised and trained to be a real princess - she's taught mannerers fit for the court, she learns how to braid leather to make jewelry, how to sing, and most importantly: how to just be quiet and look pretty - as she grows up and the wedding draws nearer, the less she wants to do it, but it's not like anyone's asking for her opinion - she meets Konstantin (© moose) who may or may not be what she wants, but at least he's charming and handsome, instead of old and ugly - someone sees Utu with Konstantin and tells on her to her family. her mother is furious, chews her out and cries how she's ruined and spoiled, and kicks her out. her father just stands by and says nothing - Utu runs - she meets a small pack of female dogs and wolves, Emot, and joins them - tho she's sure she'll be kicked out when they find out she's expecting puppies - Utu travels with Emot searching for a place to live in and tries to keep her pregnancy hidden as long as possible - they do settle down in a beautiful place called Aava, which would be perfect if not the time slowly but surely running out. - to Utu's surprise and horror, Konstantin has followed her. she does not go with him - after meeting Konstantin she quietly leaves Emot, and tries to survive on her own, and after the puppies are born, keep them alive too - it's hard, downright impossible. some of the puppies die, some get lost when they're very young, and when trying to return to Aava with the three remaining puppies, they get caught in a Sun Storm and get separated - Utu returns to Emot and rejoins them.
