A world without humans. Magic is real, the old gods are still alive, and all kinds of nature spirits live beside the wolves.
Three wolfpacks live in a beautiful land called Mantu.
The staid and rigid Hallahampaat rule the North on a fell of Hallatunturi, the warm and diligent Kaarnekynnet dwell in the eastern forest of Kaarnekorpi, the wild new-comers Ryövärit have settled in the southwest, and in the south, in a deep dark forest of Sysiaarnio, there are dark creatures, like maahiset, who are always hungry and love to kidnap careless wolf pups to eat and leave only their own changeling offspring behind.
Every wolf has their own job in a pack, be it a hunter, a craftswolf, a warrior, a healer, or a shaman.
Ahmanuhma
- Ahmanuhma is a proud Hallahammas, who loves her pack and wants to make her ancestors proud. She is a very hardworking hunter and for a fleeting moment she dared to dream of becoming the lead hunter, the Suursaalistaja, of her pack. But turns out that being unlucky in marriages and getting your reputation ruined has an effect on your career too.
- Nuh is temperate to the point of coldness. A slow to warm up, but despite her always grumpy face, she's not completely humourless. Her humour is just very dry and she does get annoyed pretty easily.
- All in all she's a pretty straightforward creature, who doesn't waste energy on pretending to be anything other than what she is. She doesn't expect anything more from her life than what she's willing to give back to it.
Appearance
- Small, but sturdy. Legs are skinny and a bit shorter than average. Not particularly strong, but tough and stubborn enough to make up for that.
- Thick white fur, dark markings. The fur is coarse and at its longest around the neck. Nose and paw pads are grey-ish pink, nails are dark. Eyes are piercingly blue, sharp and cold.
- Even her neutral expression looks kinda displeased, rarely smiles, even more rarely perks her ears.
- Pretty much always wears bright red face paint. It's supposed to bring her luck hunting; stripes under the eyes to enhance her eyesight, a stripe on the snout to help her smell better, and on both back legs to make her fast and strong.
- Some scarring and a slight dent on the right side of the snout.
Fun facts
- Ahmanuhma means a defiance of a wolverine in finnish.
- Nuh has been extremely unlucky when it comes to marriage. She even visited Aava rpg as an alternate version of herself, but despite getting engaged once again, once more she could not actually get and stay married. Even in another universe she's unlucky when it comes to love (or more like arranged partnership).
- She is asexual and aromantic. Marriage has never been about love for her. It's about duty and about continuing the family line. Nuh would love nothing more than getting respectably married and having a dozen pups.
- Nuh snuffles when she sleeps.
Story
Humahdus, a young hunter, and Kilo, a young craftswolf, were wed in a very traditional ceremony. The marriage was arranged, of course, as the custom were, and there was no romantic love involved. But neither of them wanted to make their lives unnecessarily difficult, and in the end their coexistence turned out to be very agreeable.
The couple had puppies mainly out of obligation, but did their duty as parents well. Two of the litter survived until the Naming at four months old, which was a pretty standard outcome. The dark male was named Humina after his mother, and the white female got the name Ahmanuhma as a tribute to her favourite grandparent, Kilo's mother Kätkä. (kätkä, ahma = finnish; a wolverine)
Ahmanuhma followed in her mother's footsteps into a career in hunting, whereas Humina showed more dexterity towards craftwolfship.
Nuh and her brother grew up without nothing particularly remarkable happening, they graduated to their professions, and started their lives as proper pack members.

Relationships
Ahmanuhma is very close with her brother. He's a craftswolf who makes and does her facepaint. He is married to Riesa's sister.
The first time Nuh is engaged, she is so nervous. Her parents have made a good match, a young shaman from the esteemed Vainovalkea family, a son of the current Suursaalistaja. And despite some lingering awkwardess at their first dinner together as betrothed, he is perfectly pleasant.
But before they could be wed, Harhama dies from a sickness breezing through the whole pack.

A marriage to a Routasydän is definitely a step up for a surnameless Ahmanuhma, maybe even better than a Vainovalkea would've been. The family of Routasydän has been the leading family for as long as the pack has existed, and by Karu - a cousin of the current leader - Nuh's future children would be part of that legacy, too.
The Engagement seems more like a business deal than a love affair, but that's fine by Nuh. There's even talk about getting her to be the next Suursaalistaja after the death of the last one...
But then, just days after they get married, Karu goes and gets himself kicked out of the pack, is shunned, and his surname is stripped away. He is as good as dead, and Nuh despises the memory of him.

Third time's the charm. Uljas may not have a fancy surname, but at that point Ahmanuhma is just lucky to get anyone to marry her. And even luckier, because he is still a very respectable member of the pack and a fine wolf. Even if he might be in love with someone else.

(finnish; ferocious, fierce) After a lot of trouble getting a husband in the first place, and then when finally getting the opportunity to have pups, having some more trouble concieving, Nuh finally gets the children she's been waiting for!
Hurja, one of them, dies before she is even one year old.
