"The sun will rise and we will try again"
The De Serio brood are known for being rather aloof and quiet. But there is one offspring who is a bit of a pink sheep in the dark flock.
The darling of the De Serio family, Echo has known nothing but love all her life. And it is this love that Echo radiates. Echo is a bundle of sunshine and joy. Friendly to the point of exhausting others, Echo doesn't have a spiteful or malicious bone in her tiny body. She sees the best in everyone she meets, no matter their outward appearance. She always has a kind word for anyone she meets. Never grown out of her childhood energy, Echo still runs circles around everyone. But, with useful ways to expel her extra energy, Echo has more moments of calm.
Being so protected and sheltered by her well meaning family, Echo has never known danger or trouble. As a result, Echo has no sense nor comprehension of danger. She is completely unaware that others can hold malicious intent towards her and others. Her naivety extends to less severe situations as well. She takes everything said to her at face value, she does not detect any kind of sarcasm and struggles with metaphors. Innuendo and subtlety flies straight over her head. Honest to a fault, she will say everything on her mind. Due to her own honesty, Echo believes everyone else is as honest as she is. Many may see Echo as childish, naive, and foolish, but Echo is happy in herself and full of love to give to everyone in her life.

Details
Present
Unlike most of her siblings, Echo still lives on the De Serio family farm. Helping with the day to day running of the farm although her main focus is on looking after the crops and the beehives she has introduced. She looks forward to the visits from her siblings and still waits for the day the Skyla comes back through the door.
She still spends her free time exploring the nearby woods and coastline. She still collects any insect or any shell - or really anything that interests her. Any Kami that finds themselves in her path will be befriended - at least in her mind.
History
Echo was one of many siblings raised by Mercutio and Salvador. She and her twin have never known what it means to be lonely. She grew up happy and healthy, her family all changing the way they lived to make things easier and more comfortable for her with her disability. If not for the trickery of a certain witch, Echo would have grown into an average Kamishiba like the rest of her family.
Most of her siblings have grown up and left home, but tiny little Echo has stayed behind. Her eldest sister is missing, her twin out there searching for her, her two brothers left to pursue love and careers. But Echo felt no pull to permanently leave the proverbial nest. She loves her parents and the farm she grew up on. To Echo, staying to help on - and eventually take over - the family farm was the most natural decision to make. Yet she cannot deny that she feels the pull of adventure.

Signing
Being Deaf, sign language is the most effective means of communication for her. Every member of the family learnt the language but Echo went beyond simply learning the language, she made two more versions to communicate in secret with her twin sister and to be able to sign to her blind dad. Echo prefers not to use sign language unless she feels uncomfortable speaking.
Farming
One of the few left on the family farm, Echo has taken over a few more duties than she had as a child. She's brought in beehives to pollinate the crops which she maintains with Mercutio. Chickens and ducks are still wary of her but the small herd of cattle are at ease around her.
Lip Reading
Unable to hear and with most Kamishibas not using sign language, Echo has had to adapt to a world of the hearing. She is able to very effectively read the lips of others to understand what they are saying - its how she learnt the Kami Language as a child.
Painting
Painting and drawing was something Echo loved to do with her older brother. She paints with too much enthusiasm and too few brushes. Paw painting is her favourite way to paint and with as many colours as she can. Her art works are... very Modern and up to the viewer's interpretation.

Just a neat looking rock Echo found on the beach. It's a smooth black stone with thick veins of pyrite running through.
Insect Jar [Gift]
A glass jam jar with holes pierced into the lid and filled with leaves and twigs. Given to her by Mercutio when she first started expressing interest in catching insects.

Mercutio
Her soft and caring Dad, Mercutio has always showered her (and her siblings) with love and affection. She never felt unwanted or a burden and it was Mercutio who made sure of that. Whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on or even just a hug, Mercutio would be there for her. With her deafness and his blindness, it can be difficult at times for the two of them to communicate. Echo, however, has made her own unique sign language to communicate with him.

Salvador
Stricter and more protective, where Mercutio kept her emotionally safe, Salvador kept the family physically safe. He taught her how to farm, how to write, everything she knows. His face may be stoney and blank to many but Echo knows her father is a big softy and can see past the cold exterior. Salvador has always been a great high ground for her to stand on when she was a child, and even though she is now an adult, Echo still loves to ride on his back.
Older Brother
Harper
Harper was standoffish but Echo always loved her. He was a sad soul even when he smiled so Echo always did her best to make him smile more. He no longer lives at the family house and his visits are rare, but Echo still loves seeing her older brother, making the most of each visit. Although Harper does not want to run and play any more, Echo can still convince him to paint with her, even when he says he's given up such a "childish hobby" - she knows he still loves his artwork.
Older Sister
Skyla
The black sheep of the family, Skyla looked like no one else in the family. Echo loved her older sister, the only one besides her Aunt who was willing to rough house with her as child. Her loss is felt by the whole family but especially by Echo. Although no one will tell her the details, Echo understands more now about the reason her sister disappeared. She can only hope she's safe and well.
Twin Sister
Pepper
Although they look nothing alike and share no obvious interests, Pepper and Echo have always been extremely close siblings. Echo was always there to pull her sister out of an overworking spell with a round of wrestling, chasing, or any other kind of nonsense - while Pepper was always there to keep her focused on her work. They balanced each other. At first Echo was hurt that her twin left but she has grown to understand why she did so. Now she's just miffed that Pepper won't introduce her to her mysterious girlfriend.
Younger Brother
Othello
Always more refined and calmer than Echo, she wasn't very close with her younger brother. Communication was - and to some extent still is - an issue, Othello was a mumbler when he was younger and as an adult he can't seem to keep his head or paws still when he talks, obscuring his mouth and making it difficult for her to understand him. But regardless of that, Echo still loves her baby brother to the ends of Aurora Land.

Aro
One of the tallest Kamis Echo has ever known - trumped by only one other Kami - Echo has always loved using Aro as a vantage point or diving board. And that has changed little since she grew up. Aro's back is still the greatest place to sit, so high up she can see practically everything. Aro still loves to tell her stories to Echo, who still loves to watch them, with a mix of words, actions, and signing.

Kanaya
Kanaya is and always has been, Echo's favourite aunt. Rough and rowdy, even when compared to Echo's rambunctious attitude, Kanaya can take what she dishes out tenfold. Unlike anyone else Echo roughhouses with, Kanaya doesn't hold back out of fear of hurting her. She throws Echo high into the air without a worry, because they both know she'll always catch Echo.

Big friend! This double headed Kami never told her his name so she just calls him 'Sharp Peets' after his big claws that she loves to play with. He left a while ago but didn't tell her where he went. She misses her friend terribly.
